Meet Majorie Dorismond

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Majorie Dorismond . We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Majorie , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
The Most High God gives me my Work Ethics. He created me in my mothers womb and put me on this Universe/Earth to do what I am doing.

Also, I can’t leave my Guardian Angel out, (My Mother – Lyla Chantrelle) because of her, I keep going. I know if she was here, that’s what she would want me to do. So without God, My Mother in Heaven and the Angels assigned to me. Maj D. wouldn’t be possible.

At times I find myself in a days and thinking to myself; what am I doing?

Then God always reminds me, that I am doing his work not mine. And in that moment I feel like I’m on top of the world and no one can stop me.

Shoutout to God for Creating me in his own Image.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Hey, it’s Maj D. I’m back again. Yup, this my third time and I am so Grateful.

What a pleasure!! First and foremost, I appreciate this opportunity.

I am the CEO of #SpeakFreely The Brand. My Clothing Brand is actually named after my second book “#SpeakFreely”. I wrote my second book when I got out of jail the last time, back in April 2018, then months later in September of 2018 I decided to start a Clothing Brand and named it after my second book. Pretty cool, isn’t it.

This year September 7, 2022 made 4 years since I started #SpeakFreely The Brand and I don’t regret any of it. This year was a great success. I launched new Merchandise & Products. And next year I know it’s only going up from here. I trust in my vision.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Honestly, Patience, Self Discipline & Determination is the number one key to being a Boss. I started off back in 2017 outside hustling selling and promoting my first book “This is She, Me… Majorie”. And boy oh boy, it was so freaking frustrating because I didn’t know anything about selling/promoting a business on my own. I use to get so sad cause no one would support me. I didn’t know the appropriate way to approach people about what I’m selling. Until this one day this elderly lady stopped me in a salon shop on Peter street in Atlanta. She said I need to start wearing My Brand while I am selling. She also stated that I need to give a speech to attract my customers/supporters. And from that day, 4 years later I use that Technique. I’m so Grateful I came across that women. She literally put me in the game for the free.

In conclusion, you can not be so hard on yourself. Be gentle when starting a business cause the world already gone be against you. Save the energy into your Passion and Dreams.

What do you do when you feel overwhelmed? Any advice or strategies?
When things get to overwhelming for me, I take a step back and go to God for strength and leadership. I Pray, Read My Bible and get on my Knees and Pray to God for Guidance.
