We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Maksim Baglaev. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Maksim below.
Maksim, so great to have you with us today. There are so many topics we want to ask you about, but perhaps the one we can start with is burnout. How have you overcome or avoided burnout?
Burnout for me is an inevitable stage of creativity, without it, alas, there will be no takeoff for you as an individual! I experience these periods very reverently and sensitively. This format of emotions does not allow me to relax, so I do not consider it bad or good, it is simply integral to the work of every person. How to avoid burnout? Try to keep a balance with your mental and physical health, be vigilant of yourself and your work, be sure to rest and do not overload yourself. Know when to work in moderation, this is one of the ways to avoid burnout. Educate yourself and appreciate your work, then you will be able to keep yourself in good shape, which will not allow you to think about fatigue!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My story begins in 2011 with a gift from my grandmother of a small digital camera, and from that moment my creative journey as a photographer began. I was born in Belarus in the small town of Osipovichi. He went through many stages in the development of his vision in the photosphere. I shot in almost all directions, searched for myself and my vision, and as a result, for almost 10 years I abandoned many types of filming. And at the moment I am developing in art, street photography, and also working with modeling agencies and brands. Now I am paying great attention to the development of a new style, I am considering the option of moving to a new country to see new locations and start working with brands of a new level. I want to talk about all this in more detail in my audio podcast, which I have been working on for some time, and very soon you will be able to listen to it.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
1. Trying yourself in everything is normal, don’t be afraid to take risks 2. Do what you love, develop your vision
3. Don’t copy, but truly inspire, change
As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
One of the books that adorned and changed the idea of color and approach to photography is “Live Digital – Pavel Kosenko”
