Meet Mallory Tolbert and Marissa Hercules

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mallory Tolbert and Marissa Hercules. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Mallory and  Marissa, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
As food bloggers, we’re always working to overcome imposter syndrome and feelings of inadequacy. It’s easy to compare yourself to others, especially when you’re first starting out in a new industry. Although imposter syndrome can be an ongoing challenge, we have taken proactive steps to conquer these feelings and grow in confidence.

One method that has helped shift our mindset is embracing the concept of continuous learning. We strive to view learning as an opportunity for growth rather than a sign of our shortcomings. Secondly, we take time to acknowledge our accomplishments and recognize the unique skills and expertise we each bring to the table. Appreciating our individual strengths is a reminder of our own qualifications and ability to succeed.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
We’re Mallory & Marissa, two sisters from Texas who have a love of good food and spending lots of quality time in the kitchen. Over the years, our passion for food has continued to grow as we began exploring new hobbies like recipe creation, food photography, and so much more. We finally decided to put our heads together and create The Curly Spoon Blog as a place where we could share all of our favorite creations. Find simple dessert and brunch recipes as well as baking hacks and food-centric party ideas on our blog!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that were most impactful in our food blogging journey were resilience, patience, and creativity. Our advice for those just starting out on their own journey is to avoid comparing yourself to others and focus on personal growth.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
As food bloggers, we collaborate with brands in the food and culinary industry to showcase products, develop creative recipes using their ingredients or tools, and provide valuable recommendations to our audience. This includes food and beverage brands, kitchen equipment/gadget companies, specialty ingredients providers, and cookware/bakeware manufacturers. Collaborating with relevant brands allows us to connect our audience with products that resonate with them and enhance their overall experience. Brands that are interested in partnering with us can contact us via email at [email protected].
