Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Marcus Johnson. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Marcus , we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Well for a long time I didn’t have confidence and low self esteem, because of challenges I faced growing up as a teen. One day I met a Pastor which later became my Pastor and he told me to borrow my belief I have in you until you get the belief yourself and now I can run thru brick wall nothing can stop me once I put my mind to it.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I have been blessed with many gifts and talents which led to multiple successful businesses. I am currently building my catering company called A. Devine Taste Catering llc. I found the passion and love for cooking at an early age watching how my mom throwed down In the kitchen and my dad on the grill. I took up odd jobs as a cook until I became great at it especially grilling. So now God gave me a vision and desire to start my own catering company. Thus far it has been very successful. I know a lot of people eat with their eyes so I always make sure the food looks Impeccable and has A. Devine Taste
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I think three qualities or skills that has most impacted my journey has to be number one God being at the helm of my life that’s the biggest quality because I have learned that seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness everything else will he add to you, that’s one of main ingredient to success. Secondly always be a student of the industry, always be eager to learn. Thirdly my why, my why is so strong because I have parents that I would like to make proud I have children and grandchildren that I would want to leave and inheritance to. The advice I would give is put God first and be willing to learn and have a burning desire and you will be able to achieve anything you put your mind to
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing or things my parents did for me was to Instill in me the principles of hard work and make sure you take care of your family and always treat people with respect. I love my parents!!
