Meet Marian Gonzalez

We recently connected with Marian Gonzalez and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Marian, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
First of all, I wanna thank you guys for thinking of me and for being interested in what I have to say. I’m so happy there’s people like you to give us a platform in the Community.

I think I find my purpose daily, every time I look around and noticed what I built for myself, every day that I am here, present; with the people that I love, doing what I was intended to do.. Every day I’m grateful; how everything happens for a reason, whether the purpose of that reason is good or bad at the moment, it always ends up teaching me something I’ll be thankful for.

I also think deep down I always knew what my purpose was, I just needed the courage to focus 100% on it and to not focus on what others might think. Because when you are being true to yourself, you stop carrying around other people’s opinions and desires they put on you. It is not yours to carry.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I’ve always been a creative person, ever since I can remember. It started with dancing when I was 6 years old, then makeup, photography, fashion, styling, and as I became an adult it slowly evolve into the beautiful art of textile and thread. It’s actually kinda funny, because now I feel I use all the technics into one, with having my own online business , and running my own social media, all of them come handy at one point or another. I love being in touch with my creative side all of the time, it keeps me inspired and it keeps my inner child happy and safe.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I think being humble is one, but also know what you are capable of is a good combination; as an Artist I think it’s important to know we are constantly learning, evolving. I don’t think I’ve ever heard an Artist say they already know everything there is to known. It’s not realistic. So I feel another one of them for me is that too, keep on learning, and third.. don’t be afraid to fail in the process, failure makes us grown, be a better person.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My wonderful husband. No doubt about it. I feel extremely lucky to have a partner that not only completely supports me, but knows the joy and the struggles that comes with this lifestyle. We both started as freelancers Artists at the same time, following our dreams, together.. so having him in this whole journey has been delightful and refreshing.

We work great together, we are a team, and the fact that we have each other’s back, has only made the process along the journey so much greater.
