Meet Marie Moreau

We were lucky to catch up with Marie Moreau recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Marie, really happy you were able to join us today and we’re looking forward to sharing your story and insights with our readers. Let’s start with the heart of it all – purpose. How did you find your purpose?
Many people actively search for their purpose. If you sit and be still, your purpose will reveal itself to you.

Something deep down. A yearning, a feeling you couldn’t explain. Unable to put it into words, you should be able to move in and take action. What drives your passion? What makes you happy?

I don’t have a feel good story about how I came to be a licensed massage therapist. It was just something I always “knew.”

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
We are Your Massage Party Experts! Catering to large groups for your Corporate Retreats, Bridal Parties, Vacation Getaways, Girl’s Trips and more we bring the spa to you.

Our latest addition to our massage party setup is the red carpet. Yes, we now have you walking to your massage “experience” on the red carpet. We are here to cater to you!

Our main focus is making sure that you know you are special! We do that by creating an experience, the “Prestige Experience” as we like to call it.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take sounds so corny, but it is absolutely true.

Three things you need in life is the courage to take a chance. Vision to think it through, and perseverance to get you there.

I don’t think you can coach anyone on how to have courage. To have courage means you have to believe in yourself. It’s like telling a child to jump in the pool. You know that if they get in and move their arms and legs around, they will become stronger swimmers. For them they think they might die. Instantly. They don’t know whether or not they are a strong swimmer, but, in order to find out they have to take that leap of faith.

Vision. Where do you see yourself? Where would you like to be? In order to map the path you have to see the end goal. Have and create goals. Map out a plan to accomplish them and they will take you closer to your vision.

Perseverance is the most important thing of all. You have to see it through. Could you imagine if plant seeds gave up growing because they have to push through the soil. We’d all be dead. Migratory birds fly long distances. Could you imagine if they decided to stop halfway?

Something my highschool track team coach always said that has stuck with me through the years is, “finish the race.”

Any advice for folks feeling overwhelmed?
Many people wear stress like a badge of honor. Sometimes we’re on auto pilot just trying to stay afloat and the stress piles on until our shoulders drop and we can no longer bear the load. Something snaps and important tasks get overlooked, important people are soon under appreciated, and we feel lost and unsure of how it happened.

When I feel overwhelmed I stop. Stop and identify how I feel and what is causing it. Sometimes I just have to stop and say, “Wow, things are going really bad right now.”

Not everyone can recognize their “stress.” Stress can look different for everyone. When I finally realize I’m over stressed I like to do things that bring me peace. Getting a massage. Going out into the sun. Taking a nature walk. I like doing things that are serene, low impact, and require little effort. A staycation is also a good idea. Take a break and release the stress for a little while.

Don’t neglect your responsibilities, but don’t be buried by them either. Never feel guilty for taking time out for yourself. Take some time out, slow down, recoup, and then get back in the game.
