Meet Mark Hunter

We were lucky to catch up with Mark Hunter recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Mark, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My father was an amazing optimist and his outlook in the face of incredible obstacles taught me the value of optimism. My father dealt with cancer for more than 20 years, many of those extremely difficult and yet he never stopped planning for the future and investing in others. Despite being extremely limited in his physical movement he never allowed it to slow him, he pushed himself to always find a way. His goal was to never allow anyone to feel sympathetic towards him as he felt it would take attention away from the work that needed to be done. To me, this is optimism at an amazing level and the experience has certainly shaped me into being 100% optimistic in everything.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Life is about helping others and that’s what I get to do each day in my role sharing what I refer to as the The Sales Hunter Mindset. I get to do this via my books and speaking at major conferences, association events and corporate meetings around the world. Additionally I share my message via two podcasts, The Sales Hunter Podcast and the Sales Logic Podcast. Sales to me is not a profession to be ashamed of. My view being in sales is about helping others see and achieve what they didn’t think was possible. It’s this focus that drives me each day and with each person I get to meet.
it’s an honor to share insights and I suggest people visit my website: TheSalesHunter.com

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
My journey has not been a straight line, there have been plenty of setbacks for the further I get in my journey I know the three most important items are: 1. Discipline and focus of your time and your objectives. 2. Surrounding yourself with peers and others who share your mission and you can both learn and help. 3. Your faith, whatever it might be we all need a focus and a resolute confidence in who we are.

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
Without a doubt the book, Atomic Habits by James Clear. This book reinforced in my mind the importance of having a routine and being disciplined in daily activities. Before reading this book I felt I had this under control but reading this book has allowed me to take my personal discipline to a new level. The result has been simple, I’m now accomplishing far more in less time than ever.
