Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Matt LeBris. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Matt, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
The creativity that shines through our work with The Decoding Success Podcast stems from one word: curiosity. By getting curious and finding the answers to what we’re curious about, it’s developed a sense of curiosity within that is rather unmatched. That creativity has allowed us to push out our content in different ways to reach new audiences. To that point, without our curiosity, our creativity might not be on the level in which it is. So, to bolster your creativity, I’d suggest getting curious. It doesn’t mean you have to be a podcaster or content creator, but get curious in your life. Questions to ask should start with: “how?”, “why?”, “when?”, and more.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Matt LeBris is a born and raised NY’er who inevitably caught the hustlers spirit that fills his hometown streets. After working with Daymond John of Shark Tank for numerous years, he launched his podcast, Decoding Success, which is ranked in the top 1% globally. He’s featured the likes of Mel Robbins, Grant Cardone, Gabby Bernstein, Patrick Bet-David, and many more notable names.
By throwing himself into his podcast project, he found his calling. As someone that may have identified as passionless at some points in his life, he found a passion through doing. Now, he loves showing up to amplify the messages of the incredible souls that bless the platform to make an impact on the community members that show up for themselves by tuning into the show.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three most important qualities I’ve embodied on my journey are resilience, faith, and hustle. On the journey, especially when pursuing something unconventional, it’s important to understand that things don’t always happen overnight. In fact, they rarely happen overnight. Success is something that takes work, to say the least. With that in mind, showing up day in and day out isn’t an easy task, regardless of how much you love what you do. There are days when you just feel like you don’t want to do it. There are days you feel like you just want the end result already. But, you have to show up. You have to keep moving forward. You have to aim for 1% better daily. Resiliencey is important because there are a ton of bumps on the road. They’re inevitable. When you hit one, you have to be resilient. You have to take the hit and keep going. Faith is important because you have to believe in yourself. Without that belief, who else is going to believe in you? Trust in your abilities and your pursuit of your purpose. Lastly, the hustle. The good ole hustle. You gotta put the work in!
Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was give me tough love. While this has impacted me in potentially negative ways, it made me who I am, so I can’t sit here and say I would prefer anything else. The love I received growing up was exactly what I needed to become who I am. And, when looking back at what I was able to achieve, I can’t complain. I am grateful, to say the least. The tough love approach, as mentioned might not be ideal, but it put me on a course that allows me to show up for our community of listeners at The Decoding Success Podcast the exact way they need me as a host to show up.
