Hi Meka , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
Where do I get my work ethic from. I would say my upbringing. I’ve been birthed with a bloodline of survivors. Some of my family grew up on a plantation in Louisiana whom fought hard through adversity, and learned the importance of sticking together as a family, making something out of nothing, and pushing towards the best in everything. Growing up I’ve been able to witness my parents do whatever was necessary to make sure we were fed, had a roof over our heads, confident, secure, a leader and knew how to follow when necessary. I would say because of these reasons I learned how to work as I do.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
My Meka Diamond Inc. journey was birthed in 2021 through my now over 15 year company V’Zable Evidence. While assisting others with branding and marketing, I begin to see how so many companies during the pandemic were unable to pivot. Many lost customers, exposure, and were stuck because of not being able to pay their content creators due to the hardships. Also some really didn’t understand the difference between someone who creates and who understands marketing and branding strategies. Because of my heart, I had to come up with a plan. A Plan that was affordable and an asset to small businesses. The pandemic was extremely hard for those who didn’t understand what tools and resources were available to help them get over the loss of exposure hump. With feed back from potential clients, and my level of expertise I created coaching classes to help them understand their back office, strength and weaknesses, target markets and so much more. Each business then was able to build concepts that could help them still function while creating new target markets and sustaining their existing customers. What I love about Meka Diamond Inc. is we get to take a business from where they are, creating magic that they never new existed. As a company we have witnessed the wow’s, the grateful tears, and the I couldn’t have done or saw this without you. This is what I love the most. I’ve been amazed at what God has gifted me with in order to help others see what I didn’t see for myself in my early stages of business. I witnessed, I learned, and now I instruct. This is the highlight of my position. Being able to see the expansions. For me new is more. I’ve grown in partnerships with others who coach throughout the country. We have taken our talents, our skills, and our love for growing businesses, and motivating others to stay the course while pushing towards the mark.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Some of the qualities and skills in areas that were most impactful in my journey have been goal setting, perseverance, willing to learn, listen, and execute. Entrepreneurship I often share isn’t for the weak or the weary. If you make the choice to go with a strategic plan, have the right strategic partners, then you will reach the destination and beyond. One of the things that unfortunately, was a pitstop in my journey was working with the wrong people. Those who had false promises. I learned to do my research, ask specific questions, and also check with previous clients for references. I learned you are the captain of your own ship, and those who you allow to ride along you must make sure those aren’t the people who are poking the holes in it. lol

To close, maybe we can chat about your parents and what they did that was particularly impactful for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was allow me to fall, and understand when they weren’t able to pick me up I could depend on God’s faith and my own strength to get back up. Although my parents have seen me have some bumps along the way if it was out of their control they continued to push me. In my younger days I was a track runner, a record time hurdler. As humble as I am in all my years of running, I was 4th in the state of texas.  The most memorable impact at the age of 45 is I can still hear their screams as I continue to jump. This allows me to confirm I’m still in the race and the finish line is close. It’s no longer how fast I get there, but more importantly that I have run through the tape.
