Meet Micaela Machado

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Micaela Machado. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Micaela, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I naturally feed off people’s energy and so when I come across very negative people, I have to distance myself and find a way to not let them take my energy. I’ve learned I’m my best when I’m surrounded by positive, uplifting people who can see the wonderful things in life and don’t just focus on what’s wrong. Being around positive people is infectious and it breeds creativity and power to make change. I admire people who actually “walk the walk” and don’t just talk about it.
And I’m so lucky to work with this incredible plant that can provide a better future. I’m reminded everyday with my work that there is so much to look forward to.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Hola! We are Old Pueblo Hemp Co. A Design Build Company that builds homes with Industrial Hemp! Yes! Hemp!

Why should you build your home with Hemp? So many reasons!

-It has in incredibly high thermal value—which means it simply takes less energy to heat and cool your Hemp home which means energy cost savings to you!
-It is NON TOXIC!–there are THOUSANDS of toxic chemicals in our traditional home building materials that make people and construction workers very sick. Our homes should be HEALING not DANGEROUS!
-All grown, processed and manufactured in the USA! The days of importing cheap, toxic materials are over! We can literally grow our own houses! Farm to table now applies to homes as well.
-99.9 % Fire resistant – how quickly do you think your current home could catch fire? Scary!
-Sustainable and Carbon Sequestering–purifies our air and regenerates the soil using a 1/4 of the water most crops do.
-So incredibly beautiful. Not to be confused with Hippy Domes or DIY building. This is cutting edge modern building that is connected to the Earth.

And no, you cannot smoke it. People love to ask that. It’s a completely different strain of Cannabis. It’s the only plant that can feed, house and clothe you. Truly an incredible gift from nature.

Old Pueblo Hemp Co is bringing Hemp building to the forefront! We are thrilled to announce the first permitted Hemp Build in AZ. We really want everyone to know there are better material options for home building including: Hempcrete, Hempwood, Hempwool and even Hemp Rebar.

We are passionate about this plant and truly believe its the future of home building.

So now the question becomes? Why WOULDN”T you build your home with Hemp?

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Three qualities I think are most impactful and that I strive for are:

Curiosity and the desire to learn new things and make things better. I think its important we never stop learning and improving. I don’t want to hit a plateau. I always want to know I can probably do it even

Being a Problem solver: Nothing ever goes according to plan and I think being able to come up with new solutions without losing your cool is pretty important in this industry.

Uplifting others: In the way that I have been supported, encouraged and praised, I want to do the same for others. I want to get people to believe in themselves and make themselves proud.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I’m always looking for ways to collaborate with others. I’m always building my network, connecting with people and connecting people to each other as well. I aim to be a resource. I’ve been blessed with knowledge and experience I want to share. People I want to connect with:
Government Officials- I want AZ to grow Industrial Hemp at a State Level-so many jobs!
Builders- I want everyone to build with Hemp- let me show you what I have!
Designers and Architects- design my Hemp builds!
Farmers- Lets grow Hemp!
Processors- Let’s process Hemp!
Celebrities and Influencers: Let’s get the word out!
Students- Let me show you something new!
Children- Let me show you the future!
