Michael , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence, and self esteem, by looking in the mirror, and telling myself good things, like “I’m fabulous”, ever since my teenage years, which helped me throughout high school when I was dealing with “The Mean Girls”, and when I Say “The Mean Girls” – it’s gender, and umbrella neutral!

Hello, and how are you? My name is Michael Cantres, and my current Rap moniker is Rogue Spiritual! I’m A Hip Hop artist/ poet, and I’m also a blogger that fights for my community with prayer, and actions that follow suit! I touch on the least popular subjects, such as Gay on Gay crime, right up to spirituality, and how to want the best out of life, even if you’re still living in the hood! The problem within our community was NEVER poverty, for it was always emotional addressment from the get go!

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My 3 skills were research, or should I say picking brains from people that have experience in areas that I lack; Looking at what’s around you, as you become self aware; Thick skin, for the simple fact that when you speak for God, and his universe, people will doubt you, so prepare to be spat at, kicked, and left for dead in some retrospect!

Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
God 1st, and foremost, as well as my tribe, and my family! Also, just talking to people in the street sometimes!
