We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Michael Ford a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Michael, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
Being a competitive karate athlete, you do not always win. You have to learn to get back on the horse and train harder if you want to become a champion!
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I think that what we have to offer is special because we accept all! We have created an environment where all are welcome and will feel safe and comfortable while using martial arts to reach their health and fitness goals.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Being open-minded and able to adapt to change, leadership and organization skills, and martial arts from a young age.
Looking back over the past 12 months or so, what do you think has been your biggest area of improvement or growth?
We have been able to cater to all fitness levels from people just starting their journey, to people who are elite athletes.
