We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Michael “Tiny” Alcorn. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Michael “Tiny” below.
Michael “Tiny”, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
First and foremost as a professional entertainer, I believe that compassion and caring go hand in hand with my acting skills. When you have walked through the fire of abuse yourself, you develop a deep sensitivity towards others who have experienced similar hardships. It becomes a driving force behind every character I portray, allowing me to tap into the raw emotions of human suffering and use my performances as a way to connect with audiences on a profound level.
Drama, for me, has been the channel through which I have confronted my own demons and transformed pain into something cathartic. Acting provides a unique platform to explore and express the complexities of the human experience. It has given me a safe space to delve into the darkest corners of my past and shed light on the struggles that so many others face. Through my dramatic performances, I hope to inspire empathy, support, and understanding among those who are going through their own healing journeys.
And then there’s humor – the magical ingredient that can heal even the deepest wounds. Comedy has been my saving grace, allowing me to find joy in the face of adversity. It’s the spark that ignites hope and laughter in the hearts of people who have been through tough times. I firmly believe that laughter has the power to heal, not just for the audience, but also for the artist. By infusing humor into my performances, I can manage to uplift spirits and show that even in the face of trauma, there is always room for laughter.
So, you see, caring, drama, and humor have intertwined in my life and career to form a purpose that goes beyond just performing. It’s about reaching out to those who have been abused, showing them that they are not alone, and helping them find solace, strength, and a reason to keep laughing. If my journey can inspire even one person to rise above their circumstances and discover their own purpose, then all the pain and struggle I have faced will be worth it.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am a professional actor and entertainer but most of all I’m a real down to earth caring person. I have been told many times I am a true inspiration to a lot of my fans and everyone who knows me personally. I have overcome many obstacles in life, but I have never given up on my dreams. I’m a very talented individual, and I am very passionate about my work
I was born in Downey, California in April 1974 and I grew up in Long Beach. I lived in a questionable neighborhood, and I faced many challenges in my early life from being bounced around from a few schools. I had a huge struggle with high school but managed to graduate in 1992. Then in November of that year joining the Navy.
Despite the challenges I faced, I never gave up on my dreams. I loved to act, and I knew that I wanted to be an actor. I started taking acting classes when I was in high school, and I landed a few TV commercial gigs. I had to rely on myself and my dreams as my only support to perfect my talent.
My big break came in 2007, when I was cast in the film “Transformers”. I played the role of “Special Agent”, a character of a special government organization. The film was a huge success, and it helped to launch my career. I have since appeared in numerous films and television shows, including “Star Wars”, “Marooned Awakening”, “The X Theories”, “Arachnophobia” and a few others just to mention.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
My advice that I can give is there are many things that can make an actor amazing. Some of the most important qualities include:
“Talent”, Of course, talent is essential for any actor. This means having the ability to convincingly portray different characters and emotions.
“Skill”, In addition to talent, actors also need to have the skills necessary to perform well. This includes things like voice projection, movement, and facial expression.
“Dedication”, (I can’t express this enough) Acting is a demanding profession, and it requires a lot of dedication. Actors need to be willing to put in the time, sacrifice and effort necessary to succeed.
“Passion”, Finally, actors need to have a passion for their work. This passion will help them to stay motivated and to overcome the challenges that they will face.
If you have these qualities, then you have the potential to be an amazing actor. However, it is important to remember that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to acting. What works for one actor may not work for another. The most important thing is to find what works for you and to NEVER give up on your dreams.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
Jean-Pierre Giagnoli has been a great mentor and friend to me. He has helped me to overcome many challenges in my life and to build the essential skills, qualities, and knowledge that I needed to be successful in life and acting.
One of the most important things that Jean-Pierre has taught me is to never give up on my dreams. He has always encouraged me to follow my passion and to never let anyone tell me that I can’t do something. He has also taught me the importance of hard work and dedication. He has shown me that if I am willing to put in the time and effort, I can achieve anything I set my mind to.
Jean-Pierre has also helped me to develop my acting skills. He has taught me how to use my voice and body to express emotions, and he has helped me to develop my character interpretation skills. He has also given me the confidence to take risks and to try new things.
I am so grateful for Jean-Pierre’s guidance and support. He has helped me to become a better actor and a better person. I am confident that I will continue to be successful in life and acting because of the lessons that I have learned from him.
Thank you, Jean-Pierre Giagnoli, for everything!
