Meet Michelle Oliva

We were lucky to catch up with Michelle Oliva, CEO of Signed X notary Solutions recently and have shared our conversation below.

Michelle , we are so happy that our community is going to have a chance to learn more about you, your story and hopefully even take in some of the lessons you’ve learned along the way. Let’s start with self-care – what do you do for self-care and has it had any impact on your effectiveness?
Self-care has always been a thing for me. Ever since I could remember, I knew that to get through life challenges, I would need to love myself, every flaw, every imperfection, and all that comes with me.

Of course, sometimes I have self-doubt, with the pressures of peers and society, that comes with being human. However, that is why being able to be alone, and learn myself over and over again is so important. By doing this, it gives me confidence within myself to say
“I AM THAT,
I AM CONFIDENT IN MY DECISIONS,
I KNOW MY WORTH,
and I AM NOT AFRAID TO BE ME”

In order to maintain a healthy life inregards to marriage, a job, as an entrepreneur, and even with relationships, I believe it’s very important to have self-care on top of my list of things to do.

I used to think that coming home from a long day of work to do what I love “working on my business” was self-care. Even though self-care looks different for everyone, that is not how it should have looked for me.

Now that I am a full-time Entrepreneur, I learned that other than getting my nails and hair done, self-care for me was taking myself on dates, taking self-development workshops, going to church, and spending time with people and doing things I never thought I would.

There is strength in being able to be alone/doing things alone. There is strength in learning new skills and interest. With all of this, I can say it made me a better spouse, partner in business, and confident CEO of Signed X Notary Solutions.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a Notary Public Official in the State of California! I am currently transitioning from working in the Human Services field full-time. I am so comfortable with being around diverse populations from all walks of life, It was important for me to choose a less stressful career, that is flexible, but still connects me to people. Not only do I love assisting others, I love what I take away from everyone I meet. Being a commissioned Notary Public allows me to do this.

Depending on the day, I may end up laughing or crying haha, either way, during this time in my journey, I wouldn’t want to do anything else.

In the near future, I would like to open a center to help educate fellow notaries and offer office space at a low-cost to Notary Public Officials so they could meet with clients in a private environment.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I think to be successful as a commissioned Notary Public, reliability, trust, motivation, empathy, and a sense of self is very important.

Most of the people who become Notary Public Officials are in the business to work for themselves and have more time with loved ones, etc. A person must be able to get out there and network, continue personal and professional self-development, and hold their own when in front of clients.

You will be surprised at how many clients will “tell you how to do your job.” it is essential, that you know your job (be educated on up-to-date laws and policies), be able to be empathic to your clients while ensuring you can shed light and address concerns or issues with them if challenges arise.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
My mentors are the best! This means spiritually and from an educational stand point. It is important to learn from successful people in the same industry.
Yes, you will need to compensate them, why wouldn’t you.

It is so important to speak to like-minded individuals who can understand where you are coming from.
Sure, we have friends and family, but they may not be the right person to go to for guidance, support, or to help find solutions to a challenge.

When you are an entrepreneur, you will find that being logical and resourceful will get you far.

Thank you so much for taking time out to learn more about Signed X Notary Solutions and my story. Please feel free to reach out to me for all of your notary service needs.
