Meet Miles Jones

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Miles Jones. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Miles below.

Hi Miles, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
From a very young age I always had a sense of self belief. If I saw someone doing something my initial thought was never doubt, but instead “Why not me?” As much as I’d like to take credit for this I think a lot of it came from how I was raised. My parents were constantly teaching me that nothing was impossible. As cliche as it sounds, the phrase “You can do anything you put your mind to” was essentially the motto to my childhood. If I told you how many times my Dad repeated this to me as a kid we’d be here all day. But I guess it worked – I really believed it… and still do. With all that being said, I think my confidence ultimately stems from me showing up for myself. To me that is confidence. Telling yourself you are going to do something, and doing it. And it’s not this win-based thing. That’s too volatile and unrealistic. My confidence is built on consistency. Showing up no matter what. Win or loss, I’m back in that metaphorical gym chipping away at that goal. That’s where confidence is built for me.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I’m a musician first and always will be. I’m one half of the music duo “Blake and Miles” which as one could guess is with my counterpart Blake, who also happens to be my brother. We’ve been making music together for 7 years out of our garage & released our first single in 2019. Fast forward to today & we’ve amassed over 20 million streams across all platforms, all while remaining independent; And I’m happy to announce that our first album will be dropping in 2024. With that being said my career in music has opened many doors for me creatively & caused me to become a multi-hyphenate entrepreneur of sorts. With music comes social media, which is something I’ve found a passion for & have had to master as an independent artist. I’ve been able to build up an audience of 1.7 Million TikTok followers, which has led to some amazing collaboration opportunities with brands both as an influencer & a social media strategist. Being a creator forces me to have my finger on the pulse when it comes to culturally relevant content & I love combining my knowledge and creativity with a brands vision to help them bring things to life in a way that my generation wants to consume. In addition to this, I’ve fallen in love with the fashion world & have recently stepped in to modeling which is an avenue I am eager to explore more!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
One quality that is by far the most paramount in my opinion is having a deep seeded passion for whatever it is you’re doing. There’s a never ending amount of obstacles you’re going to encounter along the journey of pursuing something, and if you don’t truly have a passion for whatever it is you’re chasing…you’ll quit. Secondly, don’t share a vision until you’re ready. I think a ton of people make this mistake early on. They tell their family, close friends, work friends, distant friends, & dog everything about the goal or dream that they want to chase. You have to remember when you do this you are opinion up the floor for criticism, doubt, and the opinions of others to creep in. I feel like this can knock so many great ideas off course before they even get started. So choose wisely who you share things with in those early stages. Thirdly, learning how to market yourself is everything. So many industries are oversaturated & hyper competitive in todays climate. Because of this it doesn’t matter how good of a product, business, song, or idea you have; If you can’t package it in a way that an audience wants to consume it, nobody will care. Marketing is truly everything.

How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I’m always open to collaboration, it’s something I do a lot of. I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with businesses & helping them create a relevant social footprint. I think social media is an area that is daunting & often misunderstood by many brands, and with the proper help they can utilize these platforms to their advantage and make it their super power. I’m happy to work with businesses of any size that are looking for help when it comes to growing an audience and marketing their products or services. If anyone reading is looking for that, lets keep it on brand, and have them dm me on instagram @_milesjones.
