Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Millisa Picazo. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
Hi Millisa, so great to have you on the platform. There’s so much we want to ask you, but let’s start with the topic of self-care. Do you do anything for self-care and if so, do you think it’s had a meaningful impact on your effectiveness?
I am thankful my career has taught me how to love and care for myself. I am professional licensed esthetician who has been in the beauty career for over 10 years. This is going to sound odd, but my self care moment came when I was training to become a full body waxer. We as waxers get trained with knowledge courses and practice on one other. I had never had a wax before. I remember feeling so scared, not only was it going to be painful but this was us practicing. We were all still learning. Well let me be the first to say I was wrong about waxing. It was not the pain level I was expecting and I looked amazing. Leaving home that day was a moment I will never forget. I was shocked that something like a wax changed my confidence level. That one service was all it took for me to start my journey on learning to love myself. I am blessed to now educate and help transform people with my knowledge and experiences. Self- care is so important. How it effects the body and mind is very beneficial. Some of my favorite self care routines are: Bubble Bath/Shower love scrub. I choose this time to just relax, unwind and thank my body for all it provides. I start by cleansing my self, from there I exfoliate my entire body with my Bare Beauty body scrubs. From here I finish my bubble bath/shower. I then massage and moisturize my body with my own custom made body oils. The last step would be to take care of my face and hair. I use the serums, oils that are beneficial to my hair and skin. our bodies take on aches and as we age our skin starts to lack moisture. Doing this helps my body and relaxes my mind. I also like to paint, dance, and journal. My most recent favorite is Ariel yoga. I turn my music on and let my body flow. These self care treats inspire my creativity as a person. A healer to myself. While, journaling helps me gain mental clarity when writing poetry or thoughts. My self care ties in all together for Mind, Body and Soul. As a human it is prime to water those seeds. How do you expect to grow without watering your grass? Love yourself so you can love others.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?

Spreading love and light.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three qualities I’ve come to appreciate most would be patience, blind faith, and continuing education. My advice to anyone who is starting on their self care journey. Don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone. Have that blind faith in yourself. Make a routine and take baby steps to keep those goals consistent. Allow yourself to accomplish small wins before leaping further in bigger dreams. It took blind faith in myself to go and create my own business. I wasn’t sure how I was going to do but I knew I would push myself to try my best. That leap of faith was one of the best decisions for my life. I believe everyone should never stop learning. The world has so much knowledge to acquire and gain from. I myself, as a master esthetician choose to constantly educate myself on the latest techniques and trends. My goal is to always be the best and most educated I can for myself and my clients. Patience is something I learned over the years. Its not an easy skill. Be patient when learning a new skill this is very important. You must grow with your talent so you can perfect your skill. Being patient in life is also important. Everything happens in divine timing. When you are patient in life you allow the universal flow to carry you. Last but not least be patient with people, You never know what they are battling internally. Allow yourself to have good grace for people around you even if they do not. These qualities have made a huge impact on the woman I am today.
Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
I am always open to collaborating or partnering with people. I don’t have a preference of certain folks I am looking for. If there is someone out there who is reading this and feels we can connect and create something beautiful I am available to discuss anything. Anyone wanting to reach out to me is always welcome to message me on my social medias, or my email. I look forward to my future collaborations and partnerships. Thank you!
