Meet Mimo Magri

We recently connected with Mimo Magri and have shared our conversation below.

Mimo, first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I think remembering there’s only one you (me) makes a huge difference in the journey. There’s nobody able to replicate or bring to the world the same exact flavor and essence you bring. I also think that every great artist has those moments of doubts while learning and practicing their craft. Sometimes we get stuck in overthinking instead of simply doing and getting the creative flow moving through the body. Those moments are indeed great references for when we need to anchor ourselves even more deeply into selflove and practices of self care. Finding that truthful and pure link to self worth. And cultivating it, daily. That’s at least how I remind myself to keep going when the feelings are overwhelming. We all bring something unique to what we do, how could we ever be an imposter of who we truly are?

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
It’s been an amazing journey since Summer 2022 where I started to write my first book titled “Amour de soi sous les étoiles” (Self-love under the stars). It was published everywhere in Canada on September 27th 2023. I spent a whole year in my writer’s cave, focused, knee deep in research and observations, reading about astrology and analysing birth charts to make it into a practical and user-friendly guide for everyone. This tedious process taught me so much about my own resilience and work ethic, in testing my own limits but also listening to my body and resting when it was needed. Because that’s what self-love truly is. Accepting that caring for yourself is more important than being prolific. Or at least, we can try to balance both out 😉 The book was welcomed with such enthusiasm and my heart is full just to see that it’s now published all over France and soon enough will be translated in english for my american (and more) audience. I’m thrilled to be part of people’s healing and spiritual journey. In fact, there’s nothing that brings me more joy. Alongside this blooming in my author-astrologer life, I was also blessed with a few movie premieres and momentum in my acting career since December 2023 – Jan 2024. I can only keep riding the wave and staying focused on what makes me happy, while surrounding myself with love and authentic people.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I believe that consistency is the most important quality to have, over any talent specifically. Being consistent whether it’s in rehearsing, learning, showing up for yourself, starting up again, etc., helps greatly in the long run to establish that you can actually do anything if you just put your mind to it. That, coupled with patience is really what makes champions, in my opinion. How many shots you miss trying? How many opportunities pass us by because we aren’t ready? It’s better to take time to prepare than just jump in anything for the sake of hype. I think we have this collective fantasy that everything great happens overnight. Absolutely not. Quite the contrary. Everything great takes time, takes care and dedication. Continuing to learn new skills and staying in the loop with an open mind to expand more is essential to allow ourselves to grow and become better at what we do. Sparkle some unwavering certitude that you got it and you are in good hands!

Thanks so much for sharing all these insights with us today. Before we go, is there a book that’s played in important role in your development?
“Ask and you shall receive” by Pierre Morency. I will never shut up about this book that really shifted my whole mind. It’s basically a book about mastering the power of our mind and using it to design and co-create our ideal life. I love the way it’s written very simply and made to be understood by anyone. The most valuable practice I have taken from this book is adopting the “laser focus” mind, which works wonders to solve problems and becoming the most efficient we can be. Instead of scattering ourselves doing a million things a day (which I do), if we need to resolve something, clearing everything else and just focusing on that one task—no matter how long it takes, helps to come up with an array of solutions. I can’t possibly summarize such a gem: just go read it! It’s an empowering read and it has become a bible to me, always near my pillow wherever I go.
