Meet Mischelle Saunders-Gottsch

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mischelle Saunders-Gottsch. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Mischelle, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I found my purpose in helping women around the world heal from brokenness to fulfill their purpose, as I healed from my childhood trauma as a childhood cult survivor. I also discovered about the healing power of sharing my faith and story with others and wanted to provide a platform for women to share their stories to heal and help others heal.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Hi Friends!

My name is Mischelle Saunders-Gottsch. I’m a childhood cult survivor. I’m also the CEO/Founder of Altered Stories Ministry, and the Chief Storyteller Host of the Altered Stories Show.

Altered Stories Ministry is a four year old 501c3 faith-based Nonprofit located in Overland Park, Kansas that helps women share their God stories so women around the world can hear them. You can check out my website at www.alteredstories.org.

I live in the KC area and am a wife to Mark, mother to my daughter, Tawny, Gigi to Bentley Rose and Lily and dog Mom to Bella and Brody. I’m almost a published author, speaker, consultant and former IT Senior PMO Manager and have worked for Fortune 500 companies and large faith based Nonprofits. I graduated from Colorado Christian University with a B.S. in Organizational Management in Project Management in May, 2017.

I love being the host of my podcast show and helping women all over the world to share their transformational God stories to help other women heal. My show has featured women’s stories of overcoming childhood trauma and abuse, cancer, s*x trafficking, spiritual abuse, great personal loss, disappointments, career setbacks, addictions, difficult divorce, affairs, micro-preemie, miscarriages, spiritual abuse, and I have listeners in 62 countries, My show has been nominated for most binge worthy and best interview awards and can be heard on my website and on most major podcast platforms, the Edifi app and on Eternity Ready Radio.com.

I am currently writing “My Altered Story” healing memoir book and a Altered Stories Ministry 52-week podcast Episode eDevotional book that to help support my Nonprofit. I’ve also shared my story on over 25 podcasts and have shared at women’s conferences and events.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Leadership, communications and my journalism background.

My advice is to gain education in Business, Nonprofit Management, journalism or volunteer at your church, company or at a Nonprofit of choice, and also consider serving on a Nonprofit Board.

All the wisdom you’ve shared today is sincerely appreciated. Before we go, can you tell us about the main challenge you are currently facing?

My biggest challenge right now is funding and resources for Altered Stories Ministry. I also need more volunteers to help with fundraising, and Social Media management. If you are interested in joining my incredible team, you can submit your interest on my website here:

https://alteredstories.org/contact/ .I’m currently networking with others to find resources and am excited to be bringing on a new Board member to help us grow, too.
