We recently connected with Molly Brahmer and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Molly, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My optimistic outlook comes through my extensive travels and a genuine appreciation for life’s nuances. Over a decade ago, I came across an article on happiness that featured a Nicaraguan man. When questioned about the source of his happiness, he expressed something akin to, “Look at the mountains, the sunrise, the sea. How could anyone not be happy?” This sentiment has remained a constant influence in my perspective. I prioritize the value of simple elements such as nature, enriching experiences, and stimuli that evoke my childlike wonder. I recognize that our true wealth comes from the beauty of the world around us, not only what Mother Nature has to offer but also our relationships as well. To continually nurture this awareness, I try to integrate gratitude and mindfulness practices into my daily routine – like watching the sunrise or being in the moment with my loved ones.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I’m Molly Brahmer, a custom artist based in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Beyond being an artist, I’m a wanderlust with an immense love for all animals, especially our feline friends. My artistic passion thrives in crafting realistic portraits, vibrant murals, and unique digital art.
The official chapter of my artistic journey began when I created a pet portrait for a friend grieving the loss of her beloved dog. Demand grew among friends and family, and I found myself capturing the memories of their cherished loved ones as well.
My love for travel has significantly influenced my artistic endeavors. Not only did it push me to delve into the world of digital art, allowing me to easily create wherever inspiration strikes, but a recent adventure in South America inspired me to completely broaden my horizons, incorporating murals into my repertoire. I’m a big advocate for celebrating differences and infusing bold, fun colors that awaken our inner child. Whether I am working on a keepsake of a loved one, a custom digital piece, or an inspirational mural, my mission is simple: spread good vibes and joy through my art.
In 2024, my aim is not only to continue creating personalized portraits in tribute to your loved ones but also to infuse walls worldwide with vibrant colors and joy.
Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
My mission to spread joy through my art has been a driving force in my journey. Not only does it fuel my creativity, but it also helps me establish a meaningful connection with my clients and audience. Cultivating a genuine passion for what I create, whether through storytelling, emotions, or a specific theme, allows me to fill my work with authenticity and a desire to evoke positive feelings.
Exploring various styles, techniques, and mediums has also been instrumental in uncovering my strengths and preferences, enriching my skill set. Stepping out of my comfort zone is a constant reminder of my capabilities when I set my mind to it.
Additionally, building a network of like-minded community has opened more doors than I could have imagined. Not only is my network filled with supportive individuals, but they are also ones I can turn to when I am in need of advice which has proven invaluable.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to develop a passion for your work that extends beyond personal satisfaction, aiming to connect with and uplift others through your artistic expression. Also, stay curious, embrace variety in your craft, and be open to meeting new people.
One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
I am seeking collaborations that offer chances to create a positive impact on society. I am particularly interested in partnering with organizations dedicated to contributing positively to communities or specific causes. This could include collaborations with community organizations, brands focused on social impact, educational institutions, or animal welfare organizations. These partnerships would highlight the capacity of art to contribute to community beautification, promote social awareness, aid in education, and support various meaningful causes. If you are interested in collaborating with me, I can be reached via email [email protected].
