We were lucky to catch up with MonaLisa Miguel recently and have shared our conversation below.

Hi MonaLisa, great to have you with us today and excited to have you share your wisdom with our readers. Over the years, after speaking with countless do-ers, makers, builders, entrepreneurs, artists and more we’ve noticed that the ability to take risks is central to almost all stories of triumph and so we’re really interested in hearing about your journey with risk and how you developed your risk-taking ability.
Taking risk is like second nature for me. In the grit-etched heart of the neighborhood where I grew up (Inglewood, California), risk wasn’t an option – it was a daily reality. The rough corners of the city became my classroom, teaching me a kind of calculus most never had to deal with. I learned to weigh risk in the heartbeat silence between a question asked and a decision made.

Risk is not its own entity, I simply integrated it, let it become part of my soul, a guide rather than a deterrent. Decisions were made based on a complex matrix of survival, ambition, courage, and hope, all intertwined in a knot that didn’t have room for fear as a standalone factor. The fear was there, of course, always present. But it didn’t influence me, it didn’t paralyze me. I walked hand in hand with it, recognized it, but didn’t allow it to control me.

My experience taught me to embrace risk and to step forward unflinchingly, even in the face of uncertainty. Fear will never be my deciding factor; resilience will be.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
So many things have happened this year! I’m just blessed to be a part of it. As our brand is growing, we’ve also added some wonderful opportunities and have partnered with some amazing companies.

We’ve now implemented a personal building opportunity for all our students. Not only are we training but assisting them build their personal brand and financial books in order to have a financial standing while growing their business.

We now have retail opportunities for all our entrepreneurs. We connect with business owners and watch their income grow by offering them resell accounts with the country’s best natural beauty manufacturer. We now offer Oil of Bergamot® at wholesale prices, giving businesses earning power of 100% profit revenues.

I’m also doing more speaking engagements. One is upcoming here shortly, LashFest, it’s one of the industry’s largest conferences on a global scale in my industry. I’m really excited to give a nugget on how to Think Big, Act Big, Be Big.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Marketing, love for technology, and networking. My advice is simply to learn it all. If someone doesn’t know how to open a computer browser because they only use their phones, then they’re already behind. If you say, I don’t use social media… well good luck with brand recognition. And good ole old-school networking. Physically meeting people, going out, and spreading the word about how your brand makes life easier… well again, you might as well pack it up if you’re stuck in a chair.

These three things are the path to success in the times we live.
