Meet Monique Russell

We recently connected with Monique Russell and have shared our conversation below.

Monique, so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I was literally sitting in a therapy session and realized I was becoming whole. Right then is when I promised myself that I was going to assist others who maybe dealing with similar issues such as the traumatic identity crisis I was facing.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My story comes from years of repetitious dysfunctional behaviors due to a traumatic moment in my adolescent years causing me to abuse alcohol, marijuana and relationships. Years had gone by and I desired healing for my soul but who could I turn to? The local church would shun me for being ignorant of my situation, staying within my social environment would cause me to destroy every fiber of my being so I did what I knew best keep smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol to suppress the pain. It was not until I received my last dui in 2015 that I surrendered all of my baggage to Christ. I was watching a well known preacher and it was right then when He asked if you want to give your life to Christ is when I said yes!
I began therapy and it was there I realized I need to assist others on their journey to wholeness. I became a certified professional Christian Life coach a few years afterwards.
Monique Empowers is dedicated to encouraging individuals who are courageously seeking their truth and self-discovery. I also have a mentorship program that is hosted every Monday at 6:30pm est on zoom by my personal mentor that teaches on various topics and provides instructions on how to invest in the stock market, how to purchase homes, tax deeds and so much more…

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
What I learned on my journey to wholeness is that the pain we experience in life propels us to our destiny. Everyone has a story and just because I do not know their story or understand it, I still have to be compassionate and mindful of other peoples feelings. Everyone heals differently some might take longer than others and that’s ok! Becoming whole is the goal. I suggest that everyone seek help in some capacity! I am an advocate of counseling, therapy and life coaches.
In my profession I’ve learned the individuals have the answers to their situations they just need to be navigated in the right direction and provided tools to assist with your new journey of becoming their true self.
The advice that I would give is never be ashamed of your story and know that their are people who are willing to help you get through and wish nothing but to see you heal properly.

What was the most impactful thing your parents did for you?
The most impactful thing your parents did for me was to love me unconditionally. Love is an action word and they continued to shower me with their prayers, hugs and affirmative words. Being judgmental is the last thing you want to do to an individual who doesn’t know themselves or are confused about who they can trust.
My parents stood with me through the test of times because they knew that I had a great call on my life! They knew that they birthed Royalty, someone who could impact the world!
Mom and dad I love you to the moon and back and I thank you all for believing in my destiny.
