Meet Mor Yosef

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Mor Yosef. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Mor below.

Mor, thank you so much for taking the time to share your lessons learned with us and we’re sure your wisdom will help many. So, one question that comes up often and that we’re hoping you can shed some light on is keeping creativity alive over long stretches – how do you keep your creativity alive?
I get inspired from everything in life. From traveling the world to new places and living through new experiences.

I am always looking for fabrics and materials, and thinking of how I can create new designs, concepts, and ideas.

I love spending time in nature and being near the ocean, and that’s where I get clarity and peace of mind. I reconnect with myself and that’s where my best creative designs stem from. The more I experience, the more I am able to stay inspired and create.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My name is Mor Yosef. I am a fashion designer and the owner of Mor Yosef Bridal Gowns, and MY MORENA Swimmer. Since I can remember, I’ve always loved fashion. Even when I was in kindergarten, I would choose my own outfits. I had a unique style, different from the other children. At the age of 5, my grandmother taught me to sew different sewing techniques by hand. So, I started sewing, I would sew clothes for my dolls, I would cut up old jeans and sew them into bags and sell them to family members. I would design new clothes for myself from old clothes or I would buy new clothes and change them to be unique according to my style. I used to design handmade costumes for my little sisters that always won first place in costume contests, and since then, I’ve had a very large clientele. Above all, I loved designing swimwear for myself due to my great love for the beach. That’s how my first line of swimwear was born and it exists to this day. I’ve had the privilege of selling my designs all over the world. At the age of 20, I started studying fashion design because it was clear to me that this was my vocation in life. After 10 years in the bathing suit industry, it was my time to evolve and I was ready for a new passion – wedding dresses. So, I moved to Los Angeles and opened my studio where I am now living my dream through my designs as well as fulfilling my customers’ dreams. My brand has exclusive, one of a kind wedding dresses. I use the finest and most unique fabrics. All of my dresses are hand sewn, with the highest attention to detail. Every bride that enters my studio receives a personalized experience, each one with her own vision of a perfect wedding dress which I turn into a reality. That one wedding dress they dream about since they were young, and I am there to make their dreams come true. This is the most exciting thing for me when working with brides. I get to be a part of their journey in one of the biggest and most important day of their lives, and it excites me and fulfills me every time. Seeing them smiling and happy with a sparkle in their eyes while wearing my dress is the greatest feeling in the world. I love what I do and I feel honored to be able to live my dream while they live theirs.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Passion – the first recipe for success at work in any field, in my opinion, is passion. When you have a passion and love for what you do, it makes you get up every morning with a smile on your face, go to work and do your best.

Mental flexibility – with an open mind and imagination, you can reach the most unconventional places. When you are flexible in your thinking, you have no borders and no limits, and when you have no limits, you are able to bring your creation into the best and highest form. This is where creativity thrives.

Persistence – is the key to success.

One of the most important ingredients to achieve anything great in life is persistence. Persistence has the power to transform desires into reality.

Without persistence, it doesn’t matter how talented you are.

All things are possible if you persist.

My advice to people who are just starting out is to follow their dreams and do what they love, and never give up and always keep moving forward. You will never regret following your passions and all of the hardships along the way will be worth it in the end.

Tell us what your ideal client would be like?
My ideal client is someone who loves and appreciates high quality fashion and who envisions a unique, one-of-a-kind wedding dress, someone who will challenge me. The challenge increases my motivation and curiosity, which pushes me to think outside the box and creates within me the desire to learn more. This inspires me to bring my passion to life.
