Meet Moriah Boone

We recently connected with Moriah Boone and have shared our conversation below.

Moriah, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
I truly believe that this is one of the greatest struggles that we, as artists, face today. We are all born with an insatiable sense of curiosity and creativity. We ask so many questions, perform countless experiments, and often generate our own answers from that experimentation.

Yet, somewhere along the way, many of us lost the creativity that carried us through our younger years. Questions become far less frequent due to the fear of wrong or perceived as stupid. Experimentation starts to feel more like work than amusement, and we begin to accept reality for what it is.

The key is to become a collector of experiences. To never stop learning and to continue doing new things…every day if you can. As clique as it may sound, the solution to keeping your creativity alive is to get comfortable with being uncomfortable.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
Well, I primarily identify as an actress but it’s important to note that my acting teachers (and countless others) have said it’s crucial to have a full life outside of acting considering the unpredictable nature of the career.

So, my name is Moriah Boone and I am an actress, animal rights activist, polyglot, and motorcycle enthusiast.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Traits that I have found to be necessary whilst pursuing this career are resilience, confidence, and persistence.

You’ll need all three when you only hear “no” for months and months at a time in pursuit of an ever-elusive “yes”.

The very process of auditioning is excellent practice for building resilience and persistence. Acting classes and spending time with your fellow creatives will cultivate the confidence portion of the indispensable trifecta.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you.
The most impactful thing my family ever did was tell me that I couldn’t do it.
