Mováge , first a big thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts and insights with us today. I’m sure many of our readers will benefit from your wisdom, and one of the areas where we think your insight might be most helpful is related to imposter syndrome. Imposter syndrome is holding so many people back from reaching their true and highest potential and so we’d love to hear about your journey and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
We are sisters brought together by marriage, stemming from different cultural backgrounds, but once united, quickly learned that we experienced some of the same adversities. One of the most prominent challenges was imposter syndrome. In our profession of event planning, we are constantly sharpening our creative craft by attending workshops and conferences. Often we are faced with the obstacle of being one of the few or only people that look like us in a room. This easily ignites our imposter syndrome and makes us feel inferior to our peers.
Another “imposter demise” we frequently find is the double-edged sword that is social media. This fantastic frenzy of colorful portraits and perfectly fabricated videos that we use to spark creativity and scale our business can also quickly foster a never-ending rabbit hole that we tend to find ourselves in, again, bringing on that uncomfortable and “unworthy” notion.
We would love give the story of how we overcame this, but the reality is, this is a constant revolving cycle that we continuously nourish through lots of prayer, positive affirmations, and support from our loved ones. We are very fortunate to not only have each other as sisters and friends, but also business partners to help motivate each other and navigate through the different adversities of entrepreneurship. If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Listening to podcasts of different peers and mentors, who have experienced or overcome similar adversities as ours is always clutch. Then there’s YouTube university… for everything! LOL There has not been one topic that we haven’t been able to gain knowledge or information from using this web source.
Our advice to anyone starting in their entrepreneurial journey would be… Consistency is key, utilize all the free resources available to you and always be open to building new relationships. Also, sharing your “bumps in the road” and difficulties with other entrepreneurs allows for vulnerability and for others to feel comfortable in sharing their struggles too and the realization that you are not alone can be of comfort.

We love to curate unique designs and luxe celebrations for savvy clients who crave to go beyond the standard! In a perfect world, we would love to say our ideal clients are all distinguished, stylish and professional visionaries who see the beauty in every little event detail like we do… oh and having an unlimited event budget is a plus too! But the truth is, no client is perfect or the same and we love tailoring our work to meet the needs of our diverse client base. We enjoy showcasing our talents through our work and when faced with different adversities, we thrive off making the impossible, possible.
