Meet Mozatronic

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Mozatronic. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Mozatronic, so great to have you with us and we want to jump right into a really important question. In recent years, it’s become so clear that we’re living through a time where so many folks are lacking self-confidence and self-esteem. So, we’d love to hear about your journey and how you developed your self-confidence and self-esteem.
What an excellent question. I am a big fan of the “fake it till you make it” mentality. The only way for this to work is to give a solid effort while understanding your own limitations and adapting. Music is so subjective….as all art is. You can use phrasing, rhythm etc. to hide what you may feel is uncomfortable for you. You as an artist need to understand your limitations and accept it. As a film composer I understand I can write some epic pieces in my studio….but at this point I am not fully equipped with the support to fully break something down and write it on paper for actual players. I can do small pieces, but would be limited with full orchestral scores. I know I CAN do it….but the level of effort and attention to detail would be very difficult. In regards to confidence and self esteem…..harder than it sounds but believe in yourself and what you can do. Do not set unrealistic expectations on yourself and never promise something you don’t know if you can deliver. That is the quickest way to destroy your confidence and self esteem. Do you….but always push the comfort zone. Moby once told me don’t be afraid to use my voice. He literally meant vocals by the artist. Always stuck with me.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
Mozatronic was spawned as a way for me to explore my musical side professionally. I am a fan of music in all forms….even genres I am not fond of always have some gem that sticks to me mentally. For close to a decade I travelled around and did interviews with rock stars during the Nu-Metal stage of music. I accomplished this through my position as a music director and on air personality in terrestrial radio. The key is when given an opportunity drive that opportunity and take advantage of it. In the last two years I have launched my solo career, had my entire studio destroyed in a house fire the same day I released my first single….rebuilt…landed a full 2.5 hour film score (The Talent Process: Retribution) which is being released worldwide in 2024. I have secured my second film with line of sight to a 3rd.
What makes my take unique is I am not hiding behind a genre….I release what I write and what I feel. The general idea is to fuse traditional orchestral with digital to create a unique sound….but I may release a cover song….a full on orchestral work or a `banging EDM track….just depends on what is calling to me at the time.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
This is a great question. My #1 would be the ability to not give a F%^&! LOL. Seriously….I can take haters because I am doing something….while haters generally don’t. I may not always succeed…but I am pushing forward. Every day. And as I said before, art is subjective. You need to understand this and accept it. Not everybody is going to like what you do. Take Taylor Swift…..HUGE….but man a lot of people talk smack about her. Not everybody likes her music. That is 100% ok. In regards to other skillsets….I started music at a very young age and have continued with it in one way or another my entire life. This has given me inspiration to know I have the ability to make something beautiful that others can connect with. Be yourself and don’t try and force it….let it come naturally.
And third, just experiment….and definitely go outside your comfort zone. The more you do…the more you will explore things inside you that you didn’t even know you had. Your comfort zone will grow and so will your expressive nature in art.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Take a step back. Baby steps my friend. Identify what is causing the feeling….break it down…and keep going. Work in small little steps. Sometimes a mountain can only be climbed in stages. That is not a failure….it is a strategy for success. In all aspects of life we can get to a point where we don’t think we can win and sometimes….the impending loss can help you learn and adapt to win in life. Accept the fact that you will not win every battle….but learn from it and never give up.
