We were lucky to catch up with Naira Cole recently and have shared our conversation below.
Naira, thank you so much for joining us. You are such a positive person and it’s something we really admire and so we wanted to start by asking you where you think your optimism comes from?
We live in a world full of negativism so it’s each and every single person’s job to keep an optimistic outlook on life. At Skinsation LA we intarct with so many people, particularly women, from different paths of life. Meeting so many people with amazing stories give us hope daily for a better and brighter future.
Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Skinsation LA started towards the end of Covid-19 lockdowns three years ago. Everyone around us was complaining about their skins breaking out and having nowhere to go for treatments. This is when we decided to partner up with our doctor, Lusanik Galustanian, to bring Skinsation to life. We had prior experience managing a med spa, and we found talented providers that specialized in skin treatments and injectables. With our the doctor’s supervision, in a short time we brought our vision to life.
Three years of hard work and dedication, now we’re opening a second location in Newport Beach, CA which we’re super excited about.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Having a thick skin is so essential when starting a new business. It’s a journey with ups and downs and if you’re not strong and focused enough, you won’t be able to survive. The beginning stages especially, there will be a lot of trial and error, and it’s important to learn from past mistakes and improve your practice.
If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
Every day is a different challenge. Whether it’s competition, or having a delayed shipment, there’s always something to work on. But when you love what you do, little obstacles don’t get in the way. Building a strong team can be challenging especially in the beginning, but when you make a name for yourself and your brand, people come to you.
