We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Nancy Johnson a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Nancy, thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
I now realize somewhat from my Mother. I didn’t realize that piece until I interviewed her for a book compilation I am part of on Ageless living.
Truly it started at a young age as I went through trials, going through pain, crying and seeking answers I found many mentors. My first one was Wayne Dyer. The first book of his I read was Erroneous Zones. It allowed me to move through those feelings and thoughts to better ones.
I then moved after high school to California and was exposed to a community of positive thinkers. And I am a big believer in manifestation and know much of what I desired showed up for me through books, seminars, people. Jim Rohn was a big one for me relative to being successful in business. There are so many mentors I have.
I too continued my journey of learning through different modalities like Feng Shui, Qigong, NLP, and Quantum healing where I understood even more the power of healing myself first and then others to release negativity. Saying Yes was a word that gave me even more confidence. I said yes and spent almost three months in Australia last year on self development.
It continues as I’m currently reading “Worthy”. And back to my Mom. I found her positivity too came from a book she read daily my Norman Vincent Peale. The Power of Positive Thinking. I’ll leave it at that for now.
Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
My primary focus is Wellness. I am an entrepreneur at heart and have had my own business for over 13 years. I love being along side people to overcome their health concerns, whether simple or complex, it lights me up. I mainly use essential oils and wellness supplements to support me, my family and my customers health. I also coach on removing limiting beliefs and releasing emotional blocks.
As a teen I watched my dad’s lifestyle take him to an early death. He was diagnosed with diabetes and I watched as he ate all the things that didn’t support his getting well, which empowered me to do differently. He was always stressed and angry which also affected his health, and again I discovered how to do the opposite, learning meditation and breath work and Yoga.
I have had too many friends and family die prematurely. My intention is to do a TedX talk on the side effects of meds and that nature provides a better way. I have customers all over the US and a few in other countries as well that I love supporting and hearing their testimonials.
I am also excited about an upcoming book compilation I’m in called Ageless Voices that will launch this year. So many people think their are old at 40 and we plan to show them a better way.
The products I’m most excited about that we recently launched are both Collagen & Electrolytes. Our scientists find the best ingredients that support the bodies health. My mom was hospitalized with dehydration a few years ago, as many seniors do not drink enough water and electrolytes really help them and everyone. I was a wellbeing director at a senior living community and have a big place in my heart for them. We have more exciting products coming, always. My desire is people are able to live a productive, loving, fun life without restrictions health concerns may be causing them.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Patience is a quality I am most recognized for and has served me well. I didn’t have it when I was much younger, I always thought I was right and knew what I knew. I now am so much more patient and I love to observe others and truly hear them. Taking the time to listen to others can heal your own heart and they feel seen.
Positivity is a choice in my opinion. I live with a cup more than half full. We have all been through a lot and if you choose to let that bring you down, or only hold on to the negativity, it affects your health. Just walking in nature grounds me and allows me to see the positive in situations, or truly the gift. Even though I might not like it, when I accept it, it’s peaceful.
And Risk taking would be my third. This has given me experiences, even when I had fear, that have brought me so much joy. I skydived, I moved to CA as a teen, I have traveled all over the world and last year I traveled alone to Australia, life-changing. I have friends I never would have met had I not taken risks. Those are just a few.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
I love collaborating. I love learning from others and having others learn from me.
My desire is connect with people who are tired of being sick themselves or have family members or friends who are. People who appreciate natures gifts and desire to live a healthy lifestyle and share with others, not perfect, just desire. Also who want to enjoy the rest of their life in a happy state, fulfilled and excited for the future, which creates a community to draw more of us in. I see too many people unhappy, and I’d love to change that.
