Meet Nari Kaur

We recently connected with Nari Kaur and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Nari with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?

The natural place to start would be the initiation of my purpose and how it began to unravel which led me to the position I hold today as an Empowerment, Wellness & Leadership Coach. I grew up in a predominantly patriarchal home where I had a lot of love and support but where gender roles were predefined which has led to one of my key drivers to break gender stereotypes. My mother was a nurturer and my father an ambitious entrepreneur who had multiple successful businesses in parallel. I was always a fun loving and confident child who loved to push the boundaries and enjoyed expanding my comfort zone – in sports, arts and academia alike.

I believe a person’s work ethic can indeed be strongly influenced by the working patterns and values they observe in their parents during childhood. This is where I developed a foundation for a strong work ethic, discipline, reliability, and consistency, My parents played a significant role in instilling these virtues in me. Both of my parents worked tirelessly in business and were successful in their pursuit of achieving something meaningful and creating a legacy in their own right.

As we predominantly learn by observing the behavior of our parents, these qualities were internalised in my own approach to work and life. My parents also taught me about the importance of hard work, discipline, and reliability by sharing their own experiences, values, and expectations, providing a direct and intentional education about work ethics.
Moreover, I was raised with high aspirations and standards which naturally translated into academic excellence and fostered the development of a robust work ethic which with the positive reinforcement I received over time, this became an integral part of my identity.

While parental influence played a significant role, my innate personality was characterised by curiosity, exploration, and a preference for learning through hands-on experiences rather than mere knowledge acquisition. A strong work ethic has not only led to fulfilling experiences but has also facilitated encounters with inspirational individuals who have shaped my worldview and propelled me to new heights. As the tangible benefits of hard work become evident, I am driven to persevere and seek out new ventures for personal and professional growth.

Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
The most impactful qualities in my personal journey have been consistency, discipline and reliability. Having a solid structure and an inherent curiosity for continuous learning has been invaluable. Knowledge is your greatest asset and I believe lifelong learning is a great way to keep your mindset strong and stimulated. Learning by doing is an invaluable asset in the journey of personal development, as it provides experience even if you fail as failure within itself also has a lesson of what works and what doesn’t work. This leads to modeling effective problem-solving and perseverance in the face of challenges that teaches us the importance of overcoming obstacles through hard work and determination.

My perspective on motivation and making an impact is rooted in growth. Each opportunity builds upon the last, fostering confidence as we venture beyond our comfort zones. With the right mindset, our abilities and potential are boundless.

I would say the most important factor is self belief and in the ability to grow into the person of a desired future self. Never giving up on your dreams and more importantly yourself – focusing on self development and essentially mastery in something meaningful is essential and then letting everything else fall into place with the right places and the right people. Put in the effort and be committed to your goals – don’t try to rush titles or possessions as the thing that will matter the most in the end will be your journey which will give you greater satisfaction than the accomplishment itself. Our only limit is the limit we self impose in our own minds.

Okay, so before we go we always love to ask if you are looking for folks to partner or collaborate with?
