Meet Nathaniel Nicholas

We recently connected with Nathaniel Nicholas and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nathaniel, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
If I step back and self-assess, I find my work ethic is driven by my tenacity and character. Growing up my parents would tell me, “you can do what you want to do in life as long as you’re willing to do what is necessary”. I was raised to be honest and to put my best into whatever work was in front of me. My work ethic is a result of the lessons I learned as a child and my tenacious passion towards entrepreneurship.

When you are trying to achieve a goal, any goal, I believe staying hungry for the completion of that goal is key.
Keeping that hunger alive is what will keep you in a state of readiness for when opportunity reveals itself.

I don’t subscribe to the “hustle culture” mentality which is common in the world of entrepreneurship.
the “hustle” mentality is the idea that in order to get ahead you have to out work the competition.
I find that mindset only leads to a life of exhaustion, frustration, and loneliness.

While there is a time and place for hard work, I find rest to be equally as important and necessary to produce quality work. My work ethic is driven by my tenacity and character, yet it is fueled by my hunger induced readiness to execute the opportunities God puts in front of me.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
I began building BronzeRock in college. In 2018 we officially launched as BronzeRock,LLC. I created BronzeRock with the vision of creating quality streetwear & e-commerce solutions that would endow our clients style & culture.

Fashion & style have been a creative outlet for me since I was a child. I was never good at drawing or sewing yet I loved putting together different colors and patterns to create outfits of self-expression.
As both a creative and business mind, I founded BronzeRock as a passion project to create high quality streetwear for high quality brands.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I would say tenacity, creativity, and having a clear vision are the three elements that got me to where I am.

Tenacity is essential to overcome anything that is hard. Tenacity is what propelled me through the hard times, the rough challenges, and the discouragement I have faced along my journey. Tenacity is what gave power to my hope and authority to my actions. Tenacity is what enabled me to adapt and become stronger with each undesired outcome. Tenacity is still essential to me today as it helps me lead well and grow my company.
To someone who is in the early stages of their journey I would say: find enjoyment in the challenges, be thankful for the struggle because it will teach you how to overcome if you listen to it and trust the process.

Creativity is what taught me how to build something out of nothing. In addition to being the Founder & CEO of BronzeRock,LLC I am also a self-taught drummer with over 20 years of playing experience. Developing my musical abilities took discipline but more then that it required creativity. To create something of your own you must be willing to try new things, step out of your comfort zone and use your resources to adapt and bring forth your vision.

Having a clear vision is the road map that guided me to where I am. Holding on to my vision has been challenging at times but I have learned to never let struggle make me loose sight of my vision. Vision is part of what makes a person unique. Vision is what provides purpose and guidance. Without vision we become wanderers traveling through life without a path, a conviction, or a purpose. It doesn’t matter how big or small the vision, I believe vision is a essential part of living a full life.

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
