Meet Nicole Burgio

We recently connected with Nicole Burgio and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nicole, appreciate you sitting with us today to share your wisdom with our readers. So, let’s start with resilience – where do you get your resilience from?
My resilience comes from deep strength within me, fueled by determination to overcome past trauma, to provide a better life for my children and navigating the challenges of starting a business. My journey reflects a remarkable ability to face adversity and keep moving forward. The challenges I faced and overcome. Surviving domestic violence, dealing with harassment daily. It’s a testament to my inner strength and resilience.

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?
As the owner of Mom With a Mop Cleaning Service, LLC and going on 3 years in business all I see is the company expanding. I have so many things I am working on right now that will get more clients for my business but I am also in the works of opening a second business with a friend. In the spring time please also look for Burgio’s Bounce House’s and Planning, LLC. We will have bounce houses for rent and also doing party/event planning. I am working on starting a non-profit organization for domestic violence victims. To go along with my cleaning business I will be starting a line of all natural cleaning products that will be available for purchase.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
For my business the three most important things are:

1. Effective Cleaning Skills; Having a thorough understanding of various cleaning techniques, products, and equipment is crucial for providing high-quality services.

2. Customer Service Skills: Building strong relationships with clients is key. Good communication, reliability, and responsiveness contribute to customer satisfaction and loyalty.

3. Business Management Knowledge: Understanding basic business principles, such as budgeting, marketing, and organization, is essential for the success and growth of any business.

For those starting a business having skill enhancement, continuously improve your skills through practice and staying updated on industry trends. Networking is a great way to connect with others in your industry and seek advice. Educate yourself by investing time in learning basic business principles. Customer feedback by actively seeking feedback from clients and use it constructively. Financial literacy b learning the basics of budgeting, accounting and financial planning. Being open to adapting your strategies based on market demands and customer feedback.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Remember, it’s okay to ask for help and take things one step at a time. Balancing responsibilities and self-care is essential for long-term well-being. Identify and prioritize tasks based on urgency and importance. Divide larger tasks into smaller, more manageable steps. If possible, delegate tasks to others. Schedule short breaks to recharge. Talk to friends, family, or colleagues. Improve time management skills. Prioritize self-care. Ensure you are getting enough sleep, exercise and relaxation. Don’t hesitate to say no when your plate is full.
