Meet Nina Lewis

We recently connected with Nina Lewis and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Nina , so excited to talk about all sorts of important topics with you today. The first one we want to jump into is about being the only one in the room – for some that’s being the only person of color or the only non-native English speaker or the only non-MBA, etc Can you talk to us about how you have managed to be successful even when you were the only one in the room that looked like you?
Embracing Uniqueness: Discovering My Personal Worth!

To truly understand my worth, I had to embrace my unique qualities. I let the flames of confidence and resilience guide me on my journey, while the winds of encouragement propelled me to new heights.

I am a rare and extraordinary creation, specifically crafted for this moment in time. Knowing that my essence is unparalleled, and my contributions are essential.

Once you realize that your presence holds value, you become a priceless gem, illuminating every space you enter.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
Motivation is the fire that drives me forward. Helping people become their best selves is my ultimate goal, and it fills me with a sense of purpose and healing. I know firsthand how it feels to wish for someone to see your value and accept you for who you are. That’s why I use my gifts of joy, positivity, experience, and public speaking as a catalyst to guide others towards freedom.

Through my workshops, podcast, and Social media platforms I focus on development and growth in areas that aren’t typically taught in schools, such as mindset, unconscious bias, empathy, and communication.

These workshops are now accessible to individuals and organizations seeking to improve themselves and their communities.

By exploring our own unique qualities, we can better appreciate the beauty of those around us.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
I consider empathy, joy, and hope to be my superpowers. Despite being freely attainable and shareable, these traits were underdeveloped in me due to my focus on pain, frustration, grief, and disappointment.

This lack of focus hindered my growth, maturity, and confidence, resulting in sleepless nights and dissatisfaction.

Admitting my struggles with self-love helped me realize my hesitation to tap into my superpowers not only affected myself but those around me who needed them the most.

Therefore, it’s crucial to be honest with oneself and acknowledge areas that require attention to activate your superpowers.

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
Many individuals fail to recognize the significance of having a robust community. They not only serve as a cheering section, but also offer support when one’s own abilities fall short.

Personally, I once took pride in being a solitary figure, but it turned out to be a self-deception. The notion that you can go it alone is akin to exposing oneself to weakness.

It’s essential to embrace vulnerability and seek support from one’s community. Doing so enables others to assist in strengthening areas of weakness rather than allowing them to remain hidden.

Get around and in front of people who support, correct, guide. and push you out of your comfort zone.
