We were lucky to catch up with Noah Andrade recently and have shared our conversation below.
Noah, we’re thrilled to have you on our platform and we think there is so much folks can learn from you and your story. Something that matters deeply to us is living a life and leading a career filled with purpose and so let’s start by chatting about how you found your purpose.
I noticed from a young age that I love performing and making people either smile or laugh. Whether I was retelling jokes from Stand-up comedy specials or doing school plays. I realized my purpose was to entertain and bring out the positive nature in others.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am an aspiring actor and voice actor. I graduated in 2022 with a Bachelor’s Degree of Fine Arts in Cinema Acting. I wish to explore multiple genres in film and television; Comedy, Horror, Drama, Action and so on and so forth. But especially wish to voice for animation. Being able to play all kinds of different characters; Heroes, Villains, Gods, Demons, Animals, and anything else that needs a voice and personality. For two years now, during September and October, I got to perform as a Scare Actor for Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios in Hollywood.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Having an open mind is helpful when understanding and getting into character. Being able to meld into a specific person’s psychology, speaking as they would. Not just vocally with volume or accent, but with their specific tempo and tone. Being able to discuss how to properly become this character with the writer and director.
Being quickly responsive aids a moment asks for improvising. A line is flubbed, a cue missed, or some kind of accident occurs: try to save the scene in whatever seems necessary. Change up the lines so the moment can continue as needed. Or just help create a brilliantly comedic and honest moment for the cast, crew, and audience to chuckle with.
Learn to find balance in life. Be able to handle a job for income while driving yourself on your passion and find that one opening to have a social life with the people you care about. And this doesn’t need to be consistent balancing act of all three at once. There will be moments where one thing requires more attention the other two. If that is the case, come to accept that some things need to take a break, so that you don’t break yourself.
If you knew you only had a decade of life left, how would you spend that decade?
Representation has been something I have sought for ever since my college education was coming to a close. Because having talent is great, but being talented without anybody noticing can be tragic.
I currently have not been able to acquire an agent to assist me in being noticed and landing auditions. Therefore, my craft and I go unseen until we can find someone who can help present us to the world.
