Meet Noble Lockhart-Mays

We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Noble Lockhart-Mays. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Noble below.

Noble , we’re so excited for our community to get to know you and learn from your journey and the wisdom you’ve acquired over time. Let’s kick things off with a discussion on self-confidence and self-esteem. How did you develop yours?
I developed my confidence from my mom and my self-esteem from my dad. My mom taught us to hold on to our faith and know that God would not bring us to what he would not bring us through. My dad always told me and my brothers that we held his last name “Lockhart” and Lockharts are great people. We were encouraged to lift our heads high and show the world how great we were in every circumstance.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am Noble Lockhart-Mays and I have the privilege of being Director of Faith’s Place Center for Arts Education located in West Palm Beach, Florida. At Faith’s Place, we teach students in the inner city, the arts in the form of piano, strings, steel pan, percussion, brass and woodwind instruments,

I started Faith’s Place because of the need in the inner city for change to compact drug addiction, teenage pregnancy, school drop-out, etc. I knew the arts was a way to do that!

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Strength, Courage, and Wisdom. Use these three and you won’t go wrong!

Okay, so before we go, is there anyone you’d like to shoutout for the role they’ve played in helping you develop the essential skills or overcome challenges along the way?
The arts helped me to overcome obstacles in my life.
