Meet Noella Grey

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Noella Grey. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Noella, thank you so much for joining us today. Let’s jump right into something we’re really interested in hearing about from you – being the only one in the room. So many of us find ourselves as the only woman in the room, the only immigrant or the only artist in the room, etc. Can you talk to us about how you have learned to be effective and successful in situations where you are the only one in the room like you?
Knowing I potentially represent others who look like me in a public space I have learned to carry myself with purpose. Remaining authentic in these situations is necessary in order to remain true to who I am as a whole person.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I want to make music that inspires people to feel good, do good, and be good. We are focused on growing with other artists and expanding our community, our reach, and our grasp on life.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three skills that were most impactful in our journey were our ability to be flexible, our strength in teaching others, and our people skills.

The advice I would give to a person who is early in their journey would be find a strong reason why you are doing what you’re doing and hold on to that reason no matter what anyone tells you.

Before we go, maybe you can tell us a bit about your parents and what you feel was the most impactful thing they did for you?
The most impactful thing my parents did for me was to install in me the fact that I will not be able to please everyone, so I need to focus on making myself happy.
