We recently connected with Paige Annette and have shared our conversation below.
Paige , so good to have you with us today. We’ve always been impressed with folks who have a very clear sense of purpose and so maybe we can jump right in and talk about how you found your purpose?
I would have never believed that this, being a storyteller, an actress in hollywood especially was part of my purpose. Truth be told, Its been quite a journey; but I’ve never been happier. And how did I find it? FAITH. I always tell people God gave me an endless amount of faith through my mother, who’s name is Faithe. My mother has taught me so much, how to love, how to stay focused and never give up and above all how to live by faith. She instilled it in me. She’s never let me quit anything, she taught me to always keep going and know my worth. Hence why I’m pretty blunt, honest, loyal and strong willed. I dont know how she did it as a single mother so beautifully, raised me and spoiled me lol but with all of these morals and values that I never veered away from. But I am forever grateful.
I’ve always thought since I was a little girl I was going to be a professional dancer then get married and have kids and settle down. Well the dancer journey happened and it was amazing! But everything else seems to be put on hold because my purpose is bigger than what I expected. Crossing over from Dancing to Acting was a complete surprise for me. It wasn’t a plan. But during a direct booking on film as a dancer I had a vision and it hit me. Oh this is what you want me to do, but as an actress. Okay God well this will be interesting. Lead the way. What do I do? Two completely different professions in the entertainment industry are very different journeys to success as well.
God is something else. He has a plan and He has a sense of humour. But I promise you everything happens for a reason. So those moments that you just want to give up; DONT. Cry it out, talking to Him, and He will speak back. I moved to Los Angeles with only enough money for my apartment and no job. Knew very little people and no road map as to how to go about proper representation, proper training etc. Every step of the way God gave me breadcrumbs, and everytime I tried to give up or veer off so to speak, even trying to change careers, He instantly stopped it then gave me a confirmation of something else He has in store for me on this path.
The closer I get to my ultimate purpose yes the more challenges I have faced. But I’ve conquered them and stayed focused. Im thankful for my circle, they help keep me balanced in knowing what my purpose is. The love the support gives me strength. Gratitude is such a big key that so many people are lacking. Stay grounded in your faith. You can’t be ready for more if you are not grateful for not only what you have but also what you have experienced. It has taken years and to be honest, I’m just getting started.
Gods timing is not always our timing and as we are going through this process we call life, we have no idea what He has in store for us. So dream! Because I promise you those dreams are seeds and they will blossom. Never let anyone define your worth, YOU know your worth so stand in it. And when you make it to the top, help others. Please. Because success is not meant to be kept, it’s meant to be shared.
Trust the journey, trust your journey and ride the roller coaster. There will be lots of ups and downs. But I have learned so much from both successes and heartbreaks, from both hello’s and goodbyes. Life is but a dream! Dream Big and Loudly!
