Meet Paulishia Augillard

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Paulishia Augillard a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Paulishia with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My parents instilled a consistent and driven work ethic in me since I was a child. Both of my parents worked hard in rearing 3 children while working long hours in the transportation and healthcare field. I admired my parents even more as I became a working adult. Balancing work and home life can have its challenges and I was blessed to learn from the best!

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
I am the CEO of Polly Clinical Services LLC! Polly Clinical Services LLC provides mental health coaching services to physicians experiencing stress, anxiety, and burnout. Polly Clinical Services LLC also provides clinical supervision to interns completing hours towards counseling licensure. Polly Clinical Services LLC also partners with several higher education institutions to provide undergraduate students an opportunity to complete an internship prior to graduation. The Grow and Glow Internship program is offered in the Fall and Spring semester on a continual basis.

I am also a Professor at Lone Star College and enjoy teaching Psychology and Human Services courses! One of the greatest gifts that I have is my ability to motivate and inspire others in their journeys through speaking engagements and training.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three qualities that have been most impactful in my journey is consistency, rest, and celebration. In building a business, it can be very isolating and at times overwhelming. In working with several business coaches, making consistent movement towards my business has allowed me to slow down, develop strategy, and enjoy the process of it all. Some may say that resting is not a quality or skill, however I disagree. The hustle culture of entrepreneurship promotes a mindset of go, go, go which can also lead to burnout. In the past year, I have learned to give myself rest, not just physical, but emotional rest. For me, there is no peace when you are stressed, moving hurriedly, and comparing your business with what the perception of social media creates. Lastly celebrating the progress made in achieving my goals in my business is a big deal! Celebrating allows me to reflect and take into account everything that has been accomplished in a short period of time. If you are early in your business journey, pray and seek God’s direction in your business. Secondly, connect with a business coach or mentor that can help guide you through the processes that you are struggling with. Finally, surround yourself with positive people that can speak life into you when the days get difficult!

Who is your ideal client or what sort of characteristics would make someone an ideal client for you?
My ideal client is a physician who is experiencing stress, anxiety, or burnout. I worked with many physicians and have learned a great deal about their daily stressors and the support that is needed. What I love most is working with physicians who seek support, not attempt to diagnose themselves, and are open to doing something different.
