Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Philippa Channer. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Philippa, looking forward to learning from your journey. You’ve got an amazing story and before we dive into that, let’s start with an important building block. Where do you get your work ethic from?
I have gained a deep appreciation for the level of excellence that I have developed over the years. This started at a very young age, when I was in high school and holding various positions of leadership over the years. I quickly realized that teachers and staff trusted me quickly and had a high level of expectations for me. I was always driven to please them and meet their expectations. However, it wasn’t until started working at Church of the Redeemer did I really learn what striving for excellence really meant for me. It was going above and beyond what was expected. It was paying attention to the details and not accepting short-cuts or half-attempts. This helped me to ensure I am always giving my clients my best.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
Channer Consulting, LLC has been in business for four years but Philippa Channer, our top Strategist has over a decade of marketing experience, providing top-notch office solutions to individuals and small businesses in the Montgomery County. Our team of experts consists of experienced professionals who know what it takes to get things done efficiently and on time. Our services range from basic office organization to comprehensive marketing strategies, all tailored to your unique needs. We are dedicated to serving small business owners who have limited time, need assistance in creating an effective marketing plan, and need a deeper understanding of marketing trends.

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
The three skills I have learned to really value since starting this entrepreneurial journey would be resistance, adaptability and accountability. I have learned to never stop trying to find the best, most efficient and impactful way to help my clients. Appreciating and understanding the power of being adaptable in any situation. And lastly, the value and importance of having a circle of peers and more experienced mentors that can help keep me accountable to all the goals and objectives I set for myself as well as give me the occasional reality check when needed.

As we end our chat, is there a book you can leave people with that’s been meaningful to you and your development?
There have been several books that have impacted my journey, the most significant book that has helped really shaped my business and how I communicate to my audience would be the Storybrand Framework by Donald Miller. Really helped me get the right perspective on how I approach my messaging in addition to the way I see my role in helping clients.
