We were lucky to catch up with Pranav Babu recently and have shared our conversation below.
Pranav, so excited to have you with us today. So much we can chat about, but one of the questions we are most interested in is how you have managed to keep your creativity alive.
Curiosity fuels an individual’s passion and desire to explore new ideas, concepts, and possibilities. It serves as a source of inspiration that drives creative thinking and innovation.
As an innovator, I aspire to adapt strategies for accessing the emotional context of the people whom I design products, services and experiences for.
Interacting with individuals from diverse backgrounds can spark new perspectives and ideas that enrich the design process.

I am Pranav Babu – a product, experience, and visual designer. I currently work in New York with Luxury Optical Holdings as an eyewear designer. I design opticals and sunglasses for 2 renowned brands – Robert Marc and Morgenthal Frederics. The best part of my job is innovation. I collaborate closely with the creative director to conceptualize, 3D model, render, and prototype luxury eyewear concepts for production.
I intend to learn relevant technologies, skills in modeling and forecasting innovative trends, thinking strategies in the design world and focus my creativity on the production of visible and usable creations.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Curiosity, staying organized and empathy are essential qualities that have immensely contributed to my growth in life. Curiosity drives exploration and innovation. It encourages us to think outside the box and seek innovative solutions to problems. Staying organized enhances efficiency and focus, and helps communicate ideas clearly. Lastly, empathy fosters a meaningful user-centered approach to design.

As I am relatively new to the industry, my primary objective is to acquire knowledge and experience. I am actively seeking opportunities for professional development and growth in my career. Currently employed as an eyewear designer in New York, I am eager to expand my expertise into other design domains such as user experience, user interface, service design, and visual design.
