Meet Princess

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Princess a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Princess, we’re so appreciative of you taking the time to share your nuggets of wisdom with our community. One of the topics we think is most important for folks looking to level up their lives is building up their self-confidence and self-esteem. Can you share how you developed your confidence?
Developing confidence as a woman can be so very tricky. Especially because we live in a patriarchal society that doesn’t like to celebrate women in their power. Your confidence is reflected by what you feel about yourself, and the value that you feel you bring. I always tell women that they have to stop viewing themselves through the eyes of others, and especially the uneducated. It’s all about setting goals for yourself, trying new things, and taking the action to challenge yourself. Confidence comes from self discipline, and consistently doing things you use to think were impossible over, and over again. Your goals can be big or small. I’ve learned the smaller achievements is what helps you get to the bigger achievements. Like, you can set a small goal of “I’m going to read 5 pages out of a book every night.” If you’re consistent with that habit over time you’re going to become an avid reader. On top of that you’re learning from whatever you choose to read. In the end, let’s say in the span of 6 months you’ll be confident enough to not only read more but, also you’ll feel confident to share with others what you’ve learned. The same techniques applied to my own self-confidence. In order for me to feel more confident within, and boost my self esteem I needed to consistently pour self discipline, self love, self discovery, and self care into myself.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
I am a creative, empath, humanitarian, lifestyle strategist, beauty professional, fashion model, and energy healer. I’m a small town girl using her creative gifts to impact society in a major way. Since a child I always knew I loved creating things. In grade school I was mostly interested in studies that allowed me to be artistic like reading, writing/literature, language arts, consumer sciences, foreign languages, and performing arts. I went on to become a beauty professional after being behind the chair, and styling hair in secondary school. Working in the field helped me with my social skills, and communication. Also, with mostly my clientele being women I was attentive to concerns they had that went way beyond beauty. I was practically a therapist to most clients conversing about life concerns such as health, relationships, career, motherhood, etc. This helped me understand not only the core needs of women collectively but also my own core needs. With me already naturally studying personal development this prompted me to start diving deep into psychology as well. Combining all of my unique experiences, and education from the past 10 years I now use my expertise to guide women to solutions that will help them live a happier, and healthier life.

Right now I share my gifts through blogging, content creation, and connecting with people 1on1 in person. In the near future I plan to release courses, and intensive programs which targets educating women solving modern day problems involving relationships/dating, confidence, and mental health. As I mentioned before I am a humanitarian so it fills me up from the inside out to help others reach their own personal level of happy. I also feel like we live in a time where monetary achievements are heightened but, our emotional core needs are ignored. A lot of people are starting to hit the wall realizing they’ve spent so much time in only certain areas in their life but always missing the mark to feeling whole. It’s time we bring attention to balancing out our lives.

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Self development, mediation/mindfulness, and psychology. This helped me understand myself, and the world around me. I think that everyone should go through a level of self help. When one doesn’t know themselves they’ll constantly make the wrong choices, and keep hitting the wall. Self development opens up a clear path. Doesn’t mean there won’t be road blocks but, at least the path is clearer. Mediation or some type of mindfulness practice is highly recommended for mental health. The awareness of our own thoughts, and patterns can greatly lead us on the path of better mental health, and keep us from experiencing cognitive dissonance. Psychology actually helped me softened my heart. I realized through psychology just how differently other people with a range of background, and social status minds worked completely different. I think a lot of people want to believe that most people think the same. We don’t. Our thoughts come from our past, and generational history. That’s where self development, and mediation comes to even out the playing field, and stabilize our reality. My best advice would be books. That’s where I started. My next advice would be to hire mentors, and coaches.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
When I feel overwhelmed I always stop to take a break. I know how to stop myself now before I reach burn out. I do things that will help me find peace like quieting my mind. Typically, I will go all in on self care. Usually, when I feel drained it’s because I’ve been giving too much energy into work or certain areas in my life. So, the first thing for me is to self reflect. Through self reflection I start to realize where I have been dishonoring myself. I connect with my emotions to see why do I feel the need to overstep my boundaries because, feeling overwhelmed is me reaching my limit. Then, I take action. My favorite thing to do when I need peace is to spend time in nature. My advice to everyone is to submerge yourself into natural bodies of water frequently. I don’t think people realize how healing water is when it’s from a natural source. Also, making sure that I’ve been eating a proper balanced diet along with getting enough vitamins. That’s super important for mood support. As a creative doing things in my natural element like creating through self love is definitely key. I love fashion, and beauty so I would do something like paint my nails, wear clothes that make me feel pretty, or do my makeup etc.
