Meet Princess Paula

Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to Princess Paula. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.

Hi Princess, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I was born and raised in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Canada, and I think the air is different up there and Canadians are a different kind of people. On a serious note, both my parents were business owners: my mother was a very successful real estate agent and my dad owned his own contracting company. I saw how hard they worked to create, a beautiful life for our family. My parents are also immigrants and both of them immigrated to Canada from Italy when they were children. I grew up watching my parents and grandparents learn a new language, find their way in a new culture and work hard to build a life in a new country.

Appreciate the insights and wisdom. Before we dig deeper and ask you about the skills that matter and more, maybe you can tell our readers about yourself?
There are two parts to Princess Paula Consulting. I am a professional, speaker and trainer, and I love getting to speak to teams whether it’s a corporation or nonprofit. A networking group, a chamber of commerce, or businesses of any size. As a business development strategies, I focus on networking, AI and ChatGPT enjoy customizing my presentations to the industry or group I’m in front of.

Then there is the business development side of what I do. People go into business, because they are passionate about something they make or something they do – but they need to find customers that will pay them for these things! That’s where I come in. I help businesses connect with their customers through networking, marketing, social media, and their business profile.

I spent years as a business development manager, and helping everyone from realtors and financial advisors to national franchises with their marketing and branding, and helping to connect them with their customer base. Rather than work for one individual company, I wanted the opportunity to work with even more businesses in various industries, and share my experience to help them become more profitable.

I enjoy working with businesses, a various sizes, and giving them the tools and resources. They need to be successful at what they do. As someone who has always loved technology I really enjoy getting to teach and train people with new technology, such as AI, so that they can run farther faster.

I am really excited about all of the AI and ChatGPT training. I’ve been doing this year. Whether it’s my virtual workshops that people can plug into from anywhere or my in person training: this is what I’ve been most excited about! This is a fantastic new technology that is going to change the way we do things both personally and professionally and I want to help people get on board!

Many businesses aren’t in a position to hire a business development manager, but they still have those needs. And if you are a solo pour: you’re trying to figure out how to do all aspects of your business from finding clients to doing the thing to invoicing and billing and marketing: it’s exhausting! If I can help take something off your plate or help, someone become more effective than I’ve done my job.

Princess Paula Consulting: we treat everyone like royalty

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I wouldn’t call myself a computer nerd… But I have never been afraid of technology. From the time I was in high school, I was hanging out on bulletin board systems (BBS) with friends and “talking” to each other across town. I somehow surrounded myself throughout the years with people who love technology, so by the time I was pregnant with my first born, I was assembling computers and a computer company in Minnesota. I went onto Wright, software manuals and teaching train on various applications and software. My love for teaching in my love for technology were great combination to help simplify Tech speak.

I have always been a natural performer. There’s a photo of me when I am six years old, standing on a dining room chair, singing for all of the guests and family at my parents house. Shy is not a word that exists in my vocabulary! My comfort in front of others, and my propensity for humour has made me a natural in front of people. Whether it’s a room of five or 5000 I feel totally at home and can speak on a topic at a moments notice. My experience has a musician has also added this joy I experiencing in front of a crowd. As a musician and singer, I have played for weddings and funerals and churches and competitions and love interacting with a crowd.

Lastly, I am a self-proclaimed networking junkie and have been a member of numerous networking groups in both Minnesota, Wisconsin and nationally. I understand the importance of connections, and have personally experience the benefits of the. “it’s not what you know it’s who you know!” my extensive network is something I draw on daily and this is a skill that helps me in not only my personal life, but has been instrumental in my new business venture.

How would you describe your ideal client?
My ideal client is twofold:

First, I’m looking for businesses and companies who want some great high energy fun and informative training for their team. Perhaps they want their team to understand more about AI and how they can be using it to be more effective efficient and profitable. Or perhaps it’s a team that wants to learn how to network effectively. I love to customize my presentations for groups of any size and container them from 2:30 hours. The possibilities are endless!

I’m also looking for folks who want to connect with their customers and maybe aren’t in a position to hire their own staff to look after marketing and social media and business relationships. They need a couple tools in their toolbox to make their cash registers ring. I am happy to teach and trainand let them run with it. But I’m always here to encourage and to check in on progress.
