We were lucky to catch up with Queteria Kinnebrew recently and have shared our conversation below.
Queteria, we’re thrilled to have you sharing your thoughts and lessons with our community. So, for folks who are at a stage in their life or career where they are trying to be more resilient, can you share where you get your resilience from?
My resilience finds its roots in my childhood. My mother and I are only 15 years a part. My grandmother passed away a year before my birth. Raised by a teenage single mother, without her mother, in the projects of Southwest Atlanta, our start was humbling. Yet, amidst these hardships, I clung to hope. They fueled my determination to persevere through any challenges life threw my way.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m the proud owner of Village Premier Collection Cobb real estate office, and I lead The Kinnebrew Group, our real estate team. Previously, I spent 14 years in Early Childhood Education as a 3rd grade teacher and Early Intervention Specialist.
Transitioning into real estate has been a tremendous blessing. Now, I educate families about the real estate market, guiding their decisions on buying, selling, or investing.
Excitement fuels my next chapter in real estate. With the Village Premier Cobb office under my ownership and a team of over 100 agents, my goal is simple: to grow as a servant leader and recruit real estate professionals who prioritize their clients’ needs.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Adaptability – You must have the ability to adjust, pivot, and thrive in different situations. It’s essential! Being adaptable allows you to navigate changes which ensures that you stay effective and resilient.
Resilience
– Success often involves setbacks and challenges. Resilience helps you bounce back from failures, learn from them, and stay motivated. It’s a key trait in maintaining momentum toward your goals.
Time Management
– Efficiently managing your time and prioritizing tasks is a skill that can significantly impact your success. Being able to allocate time wisely, meet deadlines, and focus on high-value activities is essential for productivity.
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
This question used to be the absolute easiest for me to answer. My mother has always been by my side! She has been a constant source of resilience and adaptability in my life, guiding me through tough times. Her unwavering support, despite facing her personal hardships, became a blueprint for my own perseverance.
In 2009, my husband stepped into my life, becoming a significant source of inspiration and giving mom a little competition. His unwavering belief in me fuels my determination. pushing me to give my best.
So, I am fortunate to blend the resilience learned from my mother with the encouragement from my husband to create the perfect pairing of support.
