Meet Quince Reese

We recently connected with Quince Reese and have shared our conversation below.

Quince, so great to be with you and I think a lot of folks are going to benefit from hearing your story and lessons and wisdom. Imposter Syndrome is something that we know how words to describe, but it’s something that has held people back forever and so we’re really interested to hear about your story and how you overcame imposter syndrome.
I don’t think I have, to be honest. It still seems shocking to me every day that I’ve made it this far. I feel immensely grateful for these opportunities in front of me to continue to grow and expand. The support I’ve received is truly overwhelming.

Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
ShutterbugGardens LLC is a small farm and business that teaches about environmental, mental, and physical health through homesteading. We learn as we grow, supporting each other as a community. Products and Merch include:

Looking back, what do you think were the three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful in your journey? What advice do you have for folks who are early in their journey in terms of how they can best develop or improve on these?
Determination, Resiliency, and Imagination are the most important qualities to bring along. Life is always throwing wild cards into the game, so having a few cards up your own sleeve can be helpful. Find new and creative ways to accomplish your goals when traditional methods won’t quite cut it. Be prepared to tune out the negative words of harsh critics and keep pushing forward.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
Self care is important. Putting your needs first is crucial in keeping your sanity. Finding ways to unwind and destress at the end of the day can help things looks a little clearer. Take time out of your day for something creative and engaging to unravel your thoughts. Holding stress in your body can lead to illness. Take care of your mind, your body, and your soul first. Everything else is manageable.
