We recently connected with Rahul Nath and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Rahul , thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
I have always been someone that liked to work and wanted to work. So when I had the opportunity to make my hobby and passion my work, I jumped at the chance, because I knew that it wouldn’t feel like work to me, but more so, it would feel like that I am inching closer towards my goal of being successful in a field that I always wanted to pursue.
My ethic came from an early age. Growing up and not having much, I found ways to keep myself busy, so working would be one of them. Again, you have to remember, is that in my era, there was no cell phones, internet was somewhat non existent and so physically going to work was how you met people and how you lived a working life at that time. So because working was more than just a paycheck, but also a way to interact and learn about society, it was always something that I enjoyed and liked doing.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
My career spans over various facets in the entertainment industry, I started off as a dancer and choreographer, enrolling myself in shows where I could show off my expertise in dance and that led me to receiving several choreography assignments that took me further into the dance world. That in turn. led to me teaching dance classes and creating a cardio aerobic workout that had a DVD release over the USA.
Through all of that, I always had my passion for acting and making movies and luckily for me, both of these facets simultaneously took off around the same time. My acting career has been on an upswing since 2013, with me working in huge Bollywood movie such as Happy Ending and Faraar, to going to the Caribbean to film with a movie based around Soca music, that was named Bazodee. And just when I was getting insecure about not working on USA TV, I was luckily blessed to be a part of big TV shows such as Spaceforce with Steve Carell and I’m Sorry with comedian – Andrea Savage.
As well as being a part of huge commercials and print ads, I also was very focused on starting my own production company, which I eventually did and named it Nik Nak Productions, where I have generated feature movies, TV Shows and also Mini Series projects, There is so much more that we are doing with the company, such as multiple features and also TV Shows for the USA market.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
I had a conviction from the beginning that it would all work out for me, even when nothing was, so I believe that is something you have to have, even if no believes you can do what you can do, or you are told you cannot do what you want to do. So conviction is really an excellent quality to have.
The second quality I have is that I am extremely organized, and when I say organized, I write everything down that needs to be done, even if it means having to clean my home and wash my clothes. This organization is the key in why I am able to do what I can do and wear several hats at the same time. Organization is key.
The third quality is that I am very efficient with my time, I don;t waste time on people who are not traveling at the same speed as me and who do not have a destination as bog as mine. I never used to really use this quality as much but now it has become staple in my day to day life. Time is the most important quality given to you in a lifetime and it is up to spend and utilize it the best you can.
The advice that I would for those in the early stages of their journey is remember to reward yourself. This is something that I never used to do as much, but now I make sure that I take time out to go see a new place or travel to a new destination, meet up with friends and family and/or go and relax and get that massage that I have been putting off for the last few months,
Self care and appreciation is key to those running a business and in the entertainment industry
Alright so to wrap up, who deserves credit for helping you overcome challenges or build some of the essential skills you’ve needed?
I have been grateful enough to have worked with some very successful individuals in the entertainment industry, be it directors, writers, actors, camera men and/or make up artists and costume designers. And the one thing that I have taken away from all these people is that I see the passion and excitement in what they are doing. When you have that passion and that wanting to do something, all obstacles are dealt with a cool and collected mind and when you are successful at overcoming them with that calm nature, you naturally develop a muscle to deal with anything that comes your way,
So really the years of experience of being in this field and working alongside some of the best in this field, have developed not only my skill, but also my knowledge on how to deal with the ups and downs and also increasing my qualities that I never knew I had, but now being aware that I have these qualities, has made me a much more confident and more focused individual.
