Hi Raivon , so excited to have you with us today, particularly to get your insight on a topic that comes up constantly in the community – overcoming creativity blocks. Any thoughts you can share with us?
The way that I’ve overcame writer’s block in the past and present as a alternative rap artist is by experimenting with my flow while writing. And a method that I have also used was to write about something that you wouldn’t normally write about. Because I believe by doing that, would not only challenge you but it could also versatility your ability as a songwriter as well.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I am a Alternative Rap Artist who blends punk rock,Metal and Rap into a perfect amalgamation. Some of my many influences to my craft are Nicki Minaj, Rico Nasty, Tyler The Creator, Eminem, Scarlxrd and Busta Rhymes. I have also built up a reputation for being energetic performer as well when on stage. What I want the readers to know about Raivon Don’tez is that I will go against the grain and give the people something different and fresh, that they have never seen before. And that I will always be myself and stand out. I will say that the most exciting things about my craft is being able to create great bodies of work within music and being able to share it with the world. And the second is performing, being on stage and getting lost in the music. And being able to take the audience on that journey whether it be through a Moshpit, audience interaction or just Vibing out. Its a feeling that makes all the hard work behind being a artist worth it. I also want the people to know that I’m currently working on visuals for my ep Wanna Play Vol.3: Let The Games Begin. Which is out now on all Streaming platforms. And that I’m also working on a deluxe edition of that same ep, which will be titled Wanna Play Vol.3: Let The Games Begin (The DLC EDITION).

If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
The three skills that I have obtained through my journey of being a artist are Self Discipline, versatility and the ability to improvise. My advice to a artist going through this craft, is to continue to improve whether that be writing constantly, practicing your stage presence or getting comfortable being in front of a camera. Because over a long span of time you’ll see how much it be a positive contribution progression as a artist. I would also say always be yourself because authenticity sells everytime.

One of our goals is to help like-minded folks with similar goals connect and so before we go we want to ask if you are looking to partner or collab with others – and if so, what would make the ideal collaborator or partner?
As a Alternative Rap Artist, I would love to work with a local metal rock band for a show. I feel that it would be fun experience that could lead to more opportunities and experiences that could challenge me as artist. But also lead to even further artist growth as well.
