We’re excited to introduce you to the always interesting and insightful Rebecca Benenati. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation with Rebecca below.
Rebecca, we’ve been so fortunate to work with so many incredible folks and one common thread we have seen is that those who have built amazing lives for themselves are also often the folks who are most generous. Where do you think your generosity comes from?
First of all, to me being generous means that I can give my time, my heart, my experience and my resources in a way that serves my family, friends and community and leaves me feeling content and full. I learned to be generous from my family of origin. My parents and my siblings always made time for me and for being together. I can remember a few gifts or materialistic items given generously to me from my family but I can tap into a feeling of their generosity of time and listening way more. Their generosity of making time to gather gave me a feeling I knew I wanted in my life forever.
One of my other favorite ways of being generous is to connect people that I think will be a supportive to one another. This helps people feel like they belong and are important. When I know I have connected people and they hit it off it gives me a huge feeling of accomplishment.
Being generous is something I know I have passed on to my children. I remember my daughter giving away a Sponge Bob snow globe to her friend that loved playing with it every time he came over. One day when her friend was to come over, she asked for a gift bag and tissue paper and said “Julian likes this so much, I’m going to give it to him and surprise him.” This display of my modeling generosity was so heart warming.
I think being generous also builds trust and one of my most valuable qualities and a quality I value in my friends and family is to be trusted. When I give generously and unconditionally, it instills trust in my relationships.
Thanks for sharing that. So, before we get any further into our conversation, can you tell our readers a bit about yourself and what you’re working on?
I founded Wellborn Lifestyles in 2014 as a business model that supports all people wanting to feel healthy in every way in their lives. With a background in Yoga, Massage, Meditation, Reiki and Coaching, I decided to offer services to coach people in all areas of their lives.
My passion is in listening to communication patterns and blocks so I can help people have seamless conversations. Some conversations we have to have are not easy, I coach people in using language and intention to get their messages across in an empowered way.
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Coming from a loving and supportive family gave me a foundation to succeed and be fearless in all I want to do and try.
I genuinely wanted to be an amazing and evolved Mother and make sure my kids lived always knowing truth from me.
I made my life important as a woman, human and made my mothering fit into a happy life that I lead by example so my kids would only know me to be living fully.
Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
I am a talker! When I feel overwhelmed I call my best friends, my sister or my Mom. I make sure to ask if I can vent for 5 or 10 minutes and then I let it rip! I say all the thoughts, feelings, ideas, fears and anything else that overwhelms me and I don’t edit. When I do that, I can really tune into my body and feel where I am blocked or need to move some energy. After I talk it out, I move my body by dancing or yoga or going for a walk.
