We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Rebekah Brumfield a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Hi Rebekah, thank you so much for making time for us today. Let’s jump right into a question so many in our community are looking for answers to – how to overcome creativity blocks, writer’s block, etc. We’d love to hear your thoughts or any advice you might have.
When facing creativity blocks, I often take a break to do something unrelated, like going for a drive, taking a nap, or listening to music. Sometimes I’ll try brainstorming to friends without judgment to get ideas flowing again. Additionally, seeking inspiration from other sources like music, movies, or food can help reignite my creativity.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
“I’m passionate about sharing my creative process and the stories behind my work. What I find most exciting is the opportunity to connect with people through my media platforms and inspire them with new perspectives.
Currently, I’m thrilled to announce the launch of First Lady Concierge. LLC, which curates a space for entrepreneurs and entertainers to monetize their likeness through merchandise.
We’re also expanding our reach with upcoming events and collaborations, so stay tuned for more exciting updates!”
There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Reflecting on my journey, three qualities that were most impactful were resilience, adaptability, and continuous learning.
1. Resilience: The ability to bounce back from setbacks and keep pushing forward is crucial. My advice for those starting their journey is to cultivate resilience by staying focused on your goals, learning from failures, and staying optimistic.
2. Adaptability: Being open to change and able to adapt to new circumstances is essential in any journey. Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, be willing to pivot when necessary, and stay flexible in your approach.
3. Continuous Learning: Never stop learning and seeking new knowledge. Invest time in honing your skills, staying updated on industry trends, and seeking feedback from mentors or peers. Embrace a growth mindset and always strive to improve.
For those early in their journey, I recommend seeking out mentors or role models who can provide guidance and support, networking with others in your field to learn from their experiences, and staying committed to your goals even when faced with obstacles. Remember that every step, whether big or small, is part of your journey toward success.
How can folks who want to work with you connect?
“Absolutely, I’m always open to exciting collaboration opportunities! I’m particularly interested in partnering with creative individuals or innovative entrepreneurs and companies who share my passion for connecting people, places, and things.
Whether it’s brainstorming new ideas, co-creating content, or working on projects together, I’m eager to connect with like-minded individuals who bring fresh perspectives and complementary skills to the table.
