Hi Renee, thanks for sharing your insights with our community today. Part of your success, no doubt, is due to your work ethic and so we’d love if you could open up about where you got your work ethic from?
When reflecting on the driving force of my work ethic, I immediately think of my incredible mother. Her tireless dedication and unwavering commitment to every task, every business venture she pursued, and every dream she brought to fruition have left a lasting impression on me. From her, I learned the true value of hard work, integrity, and persistence. Through her actions and words of wisdom, she instilled in me the mindset of giving my all in everything I undertake. Her shining example continues to shape not only my approach to work but also my outlook on life.

Becoming a parent has truly transformed my work ethic in ways I never imagined. The responsibility of nurturing my daughter has ignited a drive within me to push beyond boundaries and strive for my dreams like never before. Every effort I put forth is not just for myself but for the beautiful life, we’re building together. Parenthood has unlocked a newfound determination and perseverance within me, guiding me to reach new heights professionally and personally. I am grateful for the opportunity to provide a bright future for my daughter, and it’s my unwavering work ethic that paves the way for our journey ahead.

What’s especially fulfilling is having my mom, Jessie, who has shown me so much as my business partner, and seeing my daughter, Renee Jr., grow up in the business. Feeling the love of the LAB community, she’s even starting to assist with checking out clients. I’ve been able to instill in her the same work ethic my mom instilled in me, all while having her in the studio and being part of the daily growth of LAB.

Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m Renee V., a woman, mother, and beauty boss Consider me your friendly neighborhood brow whisperer, lash lover, and all-around beauty aficionado. I am a woman on a mission, armed with tweezers and mascara wands, carving her path through the world of brows and lashes.
My journey into the world of brows started when I was just a fresh-faced 16-year-old, waxing away to find that perfect arch. Fast forward to my late twenties, and I fell head over heels for the transformative power of lashes at 28. And now, here I am at 39, living out the dream I’ve relentlessly pursued. I’ve poured my heart and soul into building my brand, laying down the groundwork for what’s to come. But guess what? The adventure has only just begun! It’s time to take my passion for beauty to the next level and share it with the world. So buckle up, beauties, because we’re about to embark on a journey filled with fierce brows, fluttery lashes, and endless empowerment.

My journey began with a belief in my potential, which has materialized into the success and freedom I cherish today. The unity of my family has been instrumental, with my mother as my business partner and my sisters involved in branding. This collaboration has added depth to our journey, making it a shared adventure. The support and involvement of my entire family from the start has been pivotal. What’s most exciting is the opportunity to blend our individual strengths and shared values into a business that reflects our collective spirit. Building this with my family has been the most rewarding part of the journey.

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?

Reflecting on my journey with Lash Art Brow, the three most impactful qualities have been resilience, creativity, and community. Resilience has helped me navigate challenges and persevere through tough times. Creativity has been crucial in developing unique services and products that stand out in the beauty industry. Lastly, fostering a sense of community within our team and with our clients has been key to our success. For those starting out, I advise focusing on building resilience through continuous learning, nurturing your creativity by staying open to new ideas, and cultivating a supportive community around your brand.

Before we go, any advice you can share with people who are feeling overwhelmed?
I stay optimistic and curious. This curiosity fuels my excitement about the endless possibilities and opportunities that lie ahead in life. I’ve always had a natural inclination to seek out new experiences and knowledge, and this sense of anticipation keeps me optimistic even in challenging times. It’s the belief that there’s always something new and enriching to discover that keeps my spirits high and my outlook positive.
