We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ricardo Garcia a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Ricardo, so many exciting things to discuss, we can’t wait. Thanks for joining us and we appreciate you sharing your wisdom with our readers. So, maybe we can start by discussing optimism and where your optimism comes from?
My optimism comes every morning when waking up and knowing we’re doing a positive thing, impacting our environment and people, while at the same time innovating and providing an alternative for consumers to make a better choice.
Let’s take a small detour – maybe you can share a bit about yourself before we dive back into some of the other questions we had for you?
I’m the co-founder & CEO of Coffee Kreis. We transform recycled coffee grounds into reusable, sustainable and compostable everyday consumer products, starting with coffee cups. Our products are dishwasher safe, heat and break resistant, compostable and with a natural coffee aroma and look. With operations in Colombia, the coffee hub, but servicing the whole world.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Reflecting on my journey, three qualities, skills, or areas of knowledge that were most impactful are adaptability, curiosity, and perseverance. The ability to adapt to new situations, technologies, and challenges is crucial.
Curiosity is the driving force behind learning and innovation.
Success often requires persistence and resilience in the face of obstacles and setbacks.
For those early in their journey, my advice is to prioritize continuous learning, embrace failure as part of the learning process, and cultivate a growth mindset. Seek out mentors and role models who can offer guidance and support, and don’t be afraid to ask for help when needed.
