We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Ricky Beasley a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.
Alright, so we’re so thrilled to have Ricky with us today – welcome and maybe we can jump right into it with a question about one of your qualities that we most admire. How did you develop your work ethic? Where do you think you get it from?
My work ethic came from seeing my mom work a 9-5 ever sense I was a child. I’ve watched her work many different jobs, coming home cooking cleaning whatever needed to be done day in and day out. Still working till today that’s what keeps me working hard with hopefully being able to see her retire and be able to return the favor of taking care of her.
Great, so let’s take a few minutes and cover your story. What should folks know about you and what you do?
As this article reaches you’ll just in time for the new year, I just wanted to say thank you for taking time out to catch up with one of the best Blast Furnace Coordinators in the business. Working in the steel industry I had the pleasure of meeting a lot of great people within the Industry of iron making/ steel making. For anyone unfamiliar of the process what we do is combine different materials inside we what call a Blast Furnace, melt it all down add different variables and produce all types of steel used in the world today with the auto industry being one of our biggest customers. From that I took what we called Steel being our main product and created my own personal merchandise using the slogan (SteelWorkin) Metaphorically speaking about always working. Also when I’m not working my 9-5 I’m working with different up and coming musicians within the city of Detroit building my music brand Sevenmile Records.
If you had to pick three qualities that are most important to develop, which three would you say matter most?
Hard work will most definitely pay off in anything that your trying to accomplish, Treating people how you want to be treated showing love respect and honoring your work also goes along way. What I think most definitely helps is always listening, learning, and trying to evolve with the times it’s nothing wrong with change accepting the different ways thing could be accomplished.
Who has been most helpful in helping you overcome challenges or build and develop the essential skills, qualities or knowledge you needed to be successful?
I think I’ve been the most help so far, just by working on myself , having faith in God and continuing to learn in the different areas that could help me advance in my goals
