Meet Robbie Tripp

We caught up with the brilliant and insightful Robbie Tripp a few weeks ago and have shared our conversation below.

Hi Robbie , thank you for being such a positive, uplifting person. We’ve noticed that so many of the successful folks we’ve had the good fortune of connecting with have high levels of optimism and so we’d love to hear about your optimism and where you think it comes from.
My dad raised me to believe any dream is possible and with a “why not me” mentality! My dad always told me “what one man can do, another can do!” I was raised with Willy Wonka energy! I have a passion and ambition for my ideas and to turn my dreams into reality. The artists, entrepreneurs, and creators that I respect are ones who go through the long, laborious, and often times unknown process of turning an idea into a body of work.

One of my favorite quotes is “If they don’t give you a seat at the table, bring a folding chair!” I believe the main ingredient to success is the ability to remain optimistic and positive about the future regardless of how many ups and downs you face in your journey. Everyone is going to be tested when it comes to their commitment to their dreams, especially when they are forging their own path. People may not see it at first, but through persistence and consistency mixed with passion, you can change the world!

Thanks, so before we move on maybe you can share a bit more about yourself?

There is so much advice out there about all the different skills and qualities folks need to develop in order to succeed in today’s highly competitive environment and often it can feel overwhelming. So, if we had to break it down to just the three that matter most, which three skills or qualities would you focus on?
Passion, discipline, and enthusiasm are three qualities that will take you so far in your journey, particularly as a creative/entrepreneur. Winston Churchill said “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” No matter how many curveballs thrown your way, no matter how many times you get knocked down, if you have a belief in yourself and a commitment to your dreams, you can get there.

Awesome, really appreciate you opening up with us today and before we close maybe you can share a book recommendation with us. Has there been a book that’s been impactful in your growth and development?
I was recommended “Atomic Habits” by James Clear, by my mentor at the perfect time when I was setting up my media company Desert Money Media and taking my first big step as an entrepreneur. The book is really helpful for identifying the small details in your life that you can change/upgrade to further optimize your hustle toward your dreams. The old adage is true: the devil is in the details. It’s the little things done consistently every day that make all the difference. It requires a lot of discipline and continued focus to spend day after day building a dream into reality that no one can see but you. The most successful entrepreneurs and artists that are my friends are guys that embody this, they all have a laser-like focus to lock in every day and make something happen. That’s the cloth I’m cut from.
